Why do police officers handcuff a person in a mental health suicidal crisis on the front and not the back?

Often there’s department policy requiring restraints during a transport. Maybe the officer is putting them on the front of someone in crisis to make them more comfortable since they aren’t a criminal suspect?
No idea. Makes it easier honestly. I can still grab something and make an attempt, I can't if cuffed from behind.

Because it's easier
Are you talking about during an arrest?
I’m talking about when they are called in during a crisis where a person is suicidal and trying to hurt them selves and they detain them under a mental health act and take them to the hospital and sometimes handcuff them before they transport them to the hospital
Why would officers put a person who is suicidal in handcuffs before they transport them to the hospital?
Like if a person attempted suicide and the police are called and they detain them for mental health why would they handcuff someone who has attempted suicide before taking them to the hospital
For officer safety.
For safety. The officer and suspect
Because anyone who is suicidal is also homicidal.
