By "drag", I wasn't referring to Priscilla of the Desert drag performers or cross dressers like J. Edgar Hoover. There have always been transvestites. That is not an insult to women.

In this case, "drag" is a reference to men like Dylan Mulvaney, Lia Thomas, Elliot Page, Caitlyn Jenner, Laverne Cox, and Rachel Levine who are praised for being "women". I think it is as much an insult to women as black face is to people of African descent.

I don't watch Fox or TV network stuff, and I am NOT a fan of Megyn Kelly. But after I shared this question, I ran across this segment. Someone had shared it on Facebook.

It explains why I hate the idea that people like Dylan Mulvaney are accepted as actually being women and treated as female role models.

in my opinion drag queens are disgusting. I find it annoying when gay men get flamboyant with their speech because it's a gross exaggeration of the way women speak. Even with that, I don't think it can compare to a white man putting on black face and claiming he doesn't want to be freed from the brutality of slavery.

No. Blackface was mocking blackness. Drag queens are glorifying femininity. They play the character as a flashy entertainer, not as a fool or characatur who is just entertaining to laugh at.

Ah, you mean trans women. But they, also, are not mocking or flandarizing women. For 1 they aren't *performing,* and aren't intenting to provide entertainment to anyone just by how they live their daily life. And for 2, they transition because they feel they are women, and *want* to appear and behave as other women. Not because they think how women look or act is funny or stupid. If that were the case they wouldn't want to participate in it seriously (nobody who practiced blackface actually wanted to be seen as a black person in their real life. It was strictly a mockery of people they looked down on and wanted nothing to do with.)
