Why do makeup artist all wear black?

My girlfriend has her own shop that does makeup. All her makeup artist wear black she doesn't have a uniform for them they wear what they like as long as it's acceptable for work. Every time I go there allways in black.
When my girlfriend goes to people's houses to do makeup she's head to toe in black. She says she doesn't know why!

is it like the standard?
anyone know why?

Its not only makeup artists. It can be anyone. People have different interests and favourite colors. Sometimes people wear black because its not a stand out color. They feel like other colors make them the center of attention. That's why I like wearing black a lot.

I'm assuming it's because black will hide stains from the makeup. Makeup is messy and sometimes hard to wash out properly. A black smock, apron, or dress solves that.
