they demand that liberals, democrats, socialists, and other leftists be civil and respectful but they don't want to give the same civility and respect back. you can't demand respect and then disrespect those that support causes you don't like. You have no idea how many times I have been called so many derogatory names from conservatives and other right wingers and supposedly good Christians just because I support gay rights, transgender rights, and I am pro-choice. Yet somehow they think that just because I am a male I am not supposed to go against the supposed male patriarchy. At this point if you want to insult me for my beliefs, don't get mad when I give you the same treatment, people like you are the reason many young adults are leaving the church at a faster rate than any point in history. Everyone is sick and tired of rigid rules and regulations that only benefit someone else in power to make the rules and regulations.

I can attest to why that is. It's important to acknowledge that not all individuals within a particular group hold the same beliefs or attitudes. While some right-wingers and evangelicals may demand respect and tolerance for their beliefs, but not extend the same to those with differing beliefs, this is not true for everyone in those groups.
That being said, it should be acknowledged for all individuals and groups to strive for mutual respect and understanding, regardless of differing beliefs or ideologies. It's understandable that there may be disagreements and conflicts over social and political issues, but it's important to engage in civil discourse and respectful dialogue rather than resorting to name-calling or derogatory language.
It's also important to recognize the power dynamics at play in society and how they can impact different groups in different ways. For example, marginalized communities may face systemic discrimination and oppression that can make it more difficult for them to have their voices heard and their rights protected. It's important to acknowledge these power imbalances and work towards creating a more equitable and just society.
It is surely important for individuals and groups to strive for empathy, understanding, and mutual respect, even in the face of disagreements and conflicts over social and political issues. By doing so, we can work towards creating a more inclusive and compassionate society for all.
I am not right wing or religious. I was even an active member of a liberal, nondenominational Unitarian Universalist congregation from 2002 to 2022.
Over the years, though, I lost friends by supporting second amendment rights, opposing Israel, opposing U. S. foreign aggression, and criticizing Democratic leaders like Hillary Clinton and Gavin Newsom.
I received extremely hateful emails from former liberals who had once embraced me for my work with a local environmental nonprofit and work with the local Native American tribed.
Even though I initially supported BLM and LGBT rights, I began to oppose "critical" race and gender theories as they gradually became more irrational , radical, divisive and destructive.
I finally left the congregation when friends abandoned me for opposing the covid mandates and refusing get the clot shot.
I have 1960s and '70s liberal values that embody peace, love, open mindedness, tolerance, fairness, love of liberty, distrust of authority, and opposition to aggression. Those are the opposite of modern "liberal" values.
Look at the hate spewed on Trump supporters. Look at the violent behavior of BLM and antifa rioters and by Democrats after the 2016 election. Look at the insane behavior of radical LGBTQ activists.
So, while I agree with some of the things you said, I don't find liberals to be any better. In fact, I find most of my conservative friends to be more in line with what I described as "my liberal values".
