When I was 14 I ended up on the street after my stepfather became very abusive sexually. He'd been abusing me from when I was 12 and started doing full on stuff when I was 13. He always made sure to tell me how special and beautiful I was and my mother was always verbally abusive toward me and used to starve me. She caught me with my stepfather and threw me out on the street out jealously. My father killed himself years ago and I didn't have any family that I knew of to go to. I spent the next year giving blowjobs and handjobs to sleep in a basement. The cops caught me and i got sent to a Foster family but ran away after 3 months the Foster dad started doing stuff to me against my will, police said my mom had moved later it turned out she and my stepfather had moved states. Anyway I met a boy who was on the street too, he was very street smart and reliably knew how to survive. He found a secret place nobody knew about in a room in an old abandoned factory, there we were safe and warm and happy and in love. One night he didn't come home, I searched the city high and low and no sign. Police didn't want to know. He was found two weeks later in some bushes. He'd been brutally murdered cut up and put into trash bags, broke my heart. I tried to go on without but I got put out of our place by some junkies and the streets were dangerous with him gone. When I was 17 I eventually met this older man in his 30s who had just gotten divorced, he put me up for free provided I cook, clean and do his washing and once a week have sex with him. This where I am now, he's a great guy and I'm happy to be off the streets

No. For two reasons. 1. I got a good education (to university graduate level for free), and 2. my parents would have taken me in any time I needed it.

I know many people aren't as privileged in either case.
