We’re women given more respect in the 1960s or the 2020s?

In the 1960s women couldn’t have a credit card without their husband’s ok but they seemed to have had a lot more respect than in 2020s. What do you think?

There was more sexism in the 1960s but women were respected for being good wives and cooks and looking after children. They certainly weren't referred to as sluts and hos by default.

They're treated more like children today.

Women were given the most respect back when their fathers would sell them to her future husband in exchange for cattle. That's when you had social standards like the chivalric code. But women wanted equality and now they're miserable because of it.

I think something like a third of women or more take antidepressants or anxiety medication. Hormonal birth control probably isn't helping their psyche either. Men have a rough deal these days, but women have been just as badly destroyed by modernity.

Neither of us have been destroyed, some things improved and some things worsened. Just learn how to live with it, the modern-era isn’t all good or bad.

In the 60's and prior women were expected to shut up and clean and cook and had to fight and protest like hell to get decent rights as citizens.

In the 2020s women are much more respected in the general sense if she acts accordingly and respects herself.
