I'd wonder why what is motivating her, I'd explore that at home with parents to figure out if that's right choice. I'd say same for boy. In genearl, military means you are turning over your life to the govt... I don't like that concept.

No problem with it though, maybe it's even a good thing.

I get concerned with the power differential between males and females. too many females are abused in military... that I have a problem with.

I think that 17yr old needs to do serious preparation and research into the subject (ideally involving talking to someone currently in the service) and be absolutely sure that's what she wants to do. There is a great deal of stuff post-enlistment that is out of your control, so you want to set yourself up for success as much as possible beforehand.

I used to have a crush on this girl I went to highschool with who went into the Military to basically become a spy. The idea of a woman being smart and brave enough to do that with a full understanding of how much physically weaker she is than a man. I thought it was really hot.

I am okay with that, women are drafted in my country, though most are in non-combat roles.

I'd suggest av6the military. They have you sign an enforceable contract and you lose your rights in some aspects while enlisted. One recent example is people in the military were forced to take the covid mRNA vaccines by law.

If you want to do something exciting be a police officer, or forest ranger.

Super bad idea. No one should ever join the military in my opinion.

You end up losing your freedoms while you're in it and possibly sent to war to fight for some rich old man ambitions and die in the process or lose your limbs.
