Yes, I don't have to believe it. I know it. Who votes Republican? Non-college white men. How do the smart people vote? The academics, high tech, the creatives, the coastal professionals? Democratic.

There are plenty of extremely intelligent non educated people. Casey Neistat graduated MIT and probably didn't even have a GED when they invited him.

I know that example is a bit of a low blow but maybe there are some people who don't want to go to college and see life as valuable in a different way than most people who do.

It's hard for me to see this argument as valid when sometimes I go to the city and meet looney crackheads who remind me of friends who were very good students. Not kidding, some of the dumbest people I know got mostly straight A's.

And the covid point is kind of mute because according to the stitistics, it really doesn't seem like one choice was better than the other.

Yes, there are smart people who don't go to college. So what? That doesn't change the fact that the college educated are more intelligent and more knowledgeable than those who didn't attend. Covid? After the vaccine became available 90% of the hospitalized were unvaccinated.

Yea, but there's a difference between book smarts and actual intelligence. And because of the state of our education system we do pretty good with the books arts but not so well with other forms of intelligence which can't easily be honed in the commercialized, assembly line version of education which exists today.

For example, someone could read about engines and learn about the science of combustion and how all the parts must be manufactured very specifically in order for the oil to properly lubercate the smallest parts and so on and so fourth.

But true understanding, comes from actually working on them. The people who build the best engines are almost always mechanics.

As for the vaccine, what does that even mean? Like you're talking about being educated, do you have any idea how much of a nothing statement that is?

Anyone who wasn't sick with the coronavirus was thrown out of most of these hospitals. What point during the pandemic is that number taken from, it certainly isn't today.

If it were a month after the vaccine came out, hospitals were running out of the vaccine left and right. People were doing all kinds of stuff to get one.

That's actually a perfect example of someone being overly confident in booksmarts, not realizing you have only so much perspective to base your decisions from, and as a result, unwittingly talking out your ass. No offence.

There's no questioning the efficacy of the Covid-19 vaccine. The data is clear. Half the population was vaccinated, half was not. Over 90% of those hospitalized were unvaccinated. Over 90% of the deaths were among the unvaccinated.

Also, many educated people also can have practical skills. I used to hot-lap cars with a lot of educated professionals (it takes a lot of $$$ to put a car on track). Most knew their cars inside-out. Many had built their track cars themselves. I worked with a tech program manager who was an avid hunter and fisherman. I've had colleagues into winter backpacking, mountain climbing, competitive sailing...
