Why are women more likely to be liberal than men?

There's liberal men too. But majority of women tend to be liberal or have liberal views compared to men

Reason 1: Women are more empathetic than men in general because testosterone reduces empathy.

They want everybody to share and play nice, they don’t want anybody to be excluded or made to feel bad. That means that they want to support those who they see as being underprivileged.

Reason 2: People who feel underprivileged are more likely to support equality because they want more of whatever the people they see as being privileged have. People who are privileged (successful) are less likely to care about equality because they’re getting what they want, and they don’t want to give that away.

For example a poor person is more likely to support socialism, high taxes, the benefit system etc. whereas a middle-upper class person is likely to want to reduce the amount of tax that they have to pay.

They see men as privileged, they believe that they have a harder time than men, therefore they want gender equality.

Reason 3: They don’t care that much about longevity, they don’t think about the long-term stability of their nation, they just want what they want.

Men have always been held responsible for their families, for provision and protection. Men have always run things, men have always been the ones to fight and protect the women and children. Women have always been protected and provided for.

Many of the rules of patriarchy were created in order to promote stability. Promiscuity was heavily discouraged and shamed for example in order to prevent the break-up of families. The family unit is the backbone of a culture. Broken families lead to an unstable, weak culture. Liberal women don’t understand or care about this, they want to be free to have sex with whoever or as many people as they want, and that’s all that matters to them.

Two possible explanations I have heard:

1. Women have the tendency to score higher in agreeableness. From what I understand, this means that they are more likely to go along with what is (or what seems to be) the popular belief and in turn not as likely to go against it.

2. Women ultimately want to be taken care of but they no longer care who does this job. If it is easier, they would rather rely on the state to do this job rather than put in the effort to find a man they are attracted to to take on the provider role. As our economy goes deeper and deeper into the muck (so to speak) that it found itself in, I would imagine the demand for the state to do all the work would grow in proportion, further engulfing us in the muck.

Politically, currently it is likely because women as a whole are net tax recipients and men as a whole are net taxpayers. As more women get advanced degrees and out earn more men, it will be interesting to see if this reverses in part.

Also, the abortion issue. If (allegedly) small government conservatives consistently resisted government overreach, this would be far less of an issue.

Women will trade freedom for security. Ben Franklin and Winston Churchill had similar statements that those willing to trade freedom for security deserve neither and lose both.
