Does anyone know how to get US citizenship if you are a foreigner?

I know I asked a question about what Americans think of a Spanish girl who wants to live in the United States, but my mother and sister told me that getting to live there is very unlikely, because I would have to submit to an Electronic System for Travel Authorization, even if it was as a tourist, and they would ask me questions about whether I have collaborated with Germans (I have never collaborated with them) or something like that, and that I could only live in the United States if I marry an American or that I have a job there and that I already when I don't have it they would report me to Spain, even putting me in jail, and that there is also different favored treatment with Spaniards and Americans, my sister had a teacher who has Spanish and American nationality and her husband is Spanish and they hardly let him enter the country until they asked him a questionnaire of questions and they found out that he was his partner, and that the United States does not want immigrants. My mother and sister also told me to make an alternative plan in case they didn't let me live in the United States, to live in Spain, but I really want to live there. Because life is expensive in the United States, I have decided to study biological laboratory to get a good paying job, and I am planning to save money and plan to leave as soon as possible.

Can someone help me get better chances to live in the United States without being reported to Spain?

Real legit ways but, real life decisions.


Obviously get married is the easiest but super life changer.


Having a kid will here in the states will automatically make your child American, something to really consider if you’re really dedicated to stay in the us.


Look into a work visa. They allow you the stay for x amount of time and you can renew it. Not entirely sure how it works but, I have some friends who Will get deported if they violate any laws.


Definitely learn the US laws and avoid very law you can, even like speeding or wearing your seatbelt just incase.


It is work to become a citizen. I never been apart of the process but I know a few people that had. My friends mom from Scotland had her work vise for a long time and I remember she did it the hard way and she had to apply for classes or whatever and I remember she basically had to pass a US history test (8th grade level)


It’s definitely worth a shot and don’t let anybody tell you that you can’t or you shouldn’t be here. Yes the us does focus on on people bringing drugs and the cartel but as long as your not affiliated, with any of that you will have a shot to live with the chance to become a citizen. Yes it is a fact that there is a problem with the cartel smuggling drugs into the US but, people don’t realize how much of the jobs foreigners are willing to do that the average American wouldn’t and Americans that been living here hate on how some taxpayer money gets distributed to illegal immigrants. It’s not stereotypical how people from India become owners of small stores like subway and 7/11. Their culture has lots of little markets and is based off of them and they know business a little better than the average American and that’s how they think. So anyboby can own one but, I know how they much more easily then can control the business because my friend is from india and owns a subway and told me his father had money to franchise one sent him over to run it with plans to grow the business. After the business was successful, he bought more than one house to house, family and relatives from India to continue the same legacy. I’m half Filipino in the Philippines the parents will push you to become a doctor or go to nursing school to leave the Philippines, knowing you can make a lot more money in America. I believe we all have a right to be here yet, it is still a privilege. So don’t get discouraged by another American who thinks they have such entitlement when you know your contributing and playing your part in society. They shouldn’t care about your life, and what you do anyway as they should focus on themselves. We also must remember that every American citizen has relatives that came here too for the same exact reasons dating back to Europeans, forcefully removing, and sadly slaughtering Native Americans. Respect to all indigenous people!

Yeah people suck, especially in America. So be prepared for trolls and bullies and you gotta grow thick skin around here by the end of the day haters are going to hate it’s annoying. People are a very quick to point the finger at someone else so somebody is pointing the finger at you just show them a mirror. Everybody wants somebody else to blame. I can’t stand people like that.

1. Why are you worried about being reported to Spain? Why would Spain care if you leave?

I am not going to go to the United States illegally, I try to do it legally, looking for information on how to achieve it, and I want a well-paid job to be able to support myself and my family if I marry and have children, I worry about my future, I am going to study biological and clinical laboratory, I am planning to save money to achieve it, I am responsible for what I do, I have to think things through. I do not want to offend you, neither to you nor to anyone.

You didn't offend me. People think that you can just move to the US, but it's not that easy. You need a fiance visa or a work visa. Those are the ONLY legal ways to do it.
You can get a student visa, but after that you have to leave.
You can get a tourist visa, but after that you have to leave.

Yes. Or if you can prove that you have a job skill that is needed in America, and American companies can't find Americans to do it, then you can do that. America imports lots of software engineers from India. Even that's a scam, but the US government turns a blind eye to it.

Go on a dating site, and meet someone. They will have to come to Spain to visit you, and have proof of that. (like airline tickets and pictures of the two of you together)

If you decide to do it, it can take up to a year to get the visa. You will have to undergo a medical check and a criminal background check. If it works out, you fly to America. (he can meet you in Spain and you can fly to the US together)

Once in America, you have three months to get married. If you don't marry within three months, you have to return to Spain. If you decide to get married, you have 6 months to apply for a green card. A green card will let you live in the US for the rest of your life, but you're NOT a citizen of the US, and the green card needs to be updated every 10 years.

If you decide to become a citizen of the US, you need to file more paperwork, and take a very easy test. Most immigrants don't become citizens, because being a citizen of the US only has two advantages.
1. You can vote in national elections.
2. You can never be deported.

But Americans don't even deport criminals, so that's not and issue. And most Americans don't even take the time to vote, so that's not really an issue. In my experience, the people who opt to be citizens, do it for the pride. They want to be able to say they're an American, and with that, they can pretty much travel to most countries without a visa. An American passport is golden.

Well, I prefer to do a lot of paperwork so as not to be reported to Spain and live forever in the United States even if I'm not married, but I do want to get married and have children, I still don't feel ready for a relationship, I want to wait, so I have decided on the option of a lot of paperwork and whatever it takes. I understand. And I don’t mean to sound hostile or anything but some foreigners do have unrealistic expectations about America based on what they see in Hollywood movies. Just don’t expect our cities to be made out of gold when you do come to visit.

There are problems here as well. Especially social problems. Like politics and even economic ones as well.

But if you want some place nice similar to coastal Spain, there are wealthier neighborhoods in California with good weather

@WhiteBoyChill You are right about that, that most people believe that life in the United States is like in the movies, and I understand that there are also problems, just like in all countries, no one gets rid of problems, and speaking economically, I try to be prepared, saving money and also for emergencies. Thank you for advising me about some places in the United States to live, I have not yet decided in which part of the United States I want to live, but what I do know for sure is that I want to live in a city, because of the job opportunities and because I like the city better. life in the city than in the town, in the cities they are more modern, you have more privacy unlike the towns, since in the towns they know you and it can be uncomfortable for them to know about your private life, and also because of some bad experiences that I had while living in the town where I live now, that is another reason why I want to live in the United States, I like their parties and the way they celebrate them, like Halloween, and I find them more fun. And also, being a very large country with spectacular cities, it could have more job opportunities and with better salaries, unlike Spain, where the vast majority here are thousands of thousands of dollars and are insufficient, and I saw that in the United States they are a little more just. with wages, but despite the fact that American life is expensive, it is easier to save than in Spain. I like to save money for my things and also in emergencies. And also the United States is known as the country of opportunities and I would like to have the opportunities that I could not have because of what happened to me in the past, and to be happy.

Yes I understand. But be warned though. There are parts of the US that have experienced tumultous decline. Particularly in what’s called the Deep South and the upper Midwest. Do not go to those places, even if you do find a job there, they are still depressing places to live. Expect to see shut down factories and abandoned buildings there.

For you, definitely try visiting California or NYC and see how you like it.

Everyone loves NYC, and California is full of great places to visit (if you live in the right area).
