Will Trump run as an independent candidate?

Sometime ago I believe that I heard if Trump didn’t get the GOP Nomination for president. He would run as an independent candidate. Do you think he would have a chance to win or would that spread the votes around enough that the Democrats could win?

I think this is why the Republican party still embraces Trump. The Republican party is much better than the democrats about consolidating power for the "good" of the party. I think the Republicans know at this point they have a stick on dynamite in Trump. If they don't support him he'll split the party in two. So they either embrace Trump or lose to Biden again. I think the Republican party just hopes a charismatic Republican emerges from the field to take Trumps thunder from Republican voters. Then the Republican party will turn on Trump in a heartbeat.

I wouldn't count on it or, he would've done so the first time! He only chose to go republican to be able to get into the debates. They don't include independents or whigs in the debates.

Thank you. But, that's what he said 7 or 8 years ago. He WANTED to go Ind. but found they wouldn't allow those in the debates and he felt he couldn't win without being in the debates so, as he sure as hell wasn't gonna go dem, he went rep.
But, I really don't see what the difference is! You're SUPPOSED to vote for the best person for the job!! NOT just party or skin colour or sexual orientation or to keep someone else from winning or the supposed lesser of two evils or even because someone on t. v. TOLD you who to vote for!! I'm still a dem but, I voted for him the last two times because he was the best person for the job! Still is!!

I'd like to see debates that would include ALL those who've declared their candidacy, regardless of party affiliation.

It'd be a big, long drawn-out event, but it'd get people talking about real issues, and it'd shake the crap out of the rafters to be swept away, so to speak.

I don't know how the ad revenue works, but there really is paid posters. If you talk to them, they will tell you they don't even believe the stuff they post, but it's an easy way to work for home. And even though the pay isn't that great, you can probably crank out 16 hours per day. Heck, we post here for free. And once you realize these posters exist, things start to make sense. Just look at that moron who posts about 5 anti-Trump questions per day. He has to be either living in an insane asylum or being paid.

Some states have a law against people who lose in a primary running for a 3rd party. If he ran, it would be pure revenge on Republicans for their lack of loyalty and the Republican nominee would have no chance.
