+1 yI think I'll have to laugh a little more when I read nextdoor posts of people complaining about the crime and increased insurance costs. This one lady goes... my car insurance went up $190 and then $300, I can't afford this, what can I do. Lol... I just wonder how she voted. Another said "my rent is up $700"... I'm a single mom, I can barely...".
I love it... this is fantastic and exactly what is needed to change the country for the better. But as well, I don't think the pain is enough yet and there is much more coming.
What will have to happen is more socialization of costs, democrats know nothing else. They will raise taxes on rich, maybe, continue massive inflation.
I suspect Democrats win, so I'm not stressing... just enjoy the ride...

@lightbulb27. Yes, people love to complain every time they have to buy gas or go to the supermarket. They will vote the same people into office. I really wouldn't care except all my costs have doubled as well
- +1 y
@exitseven Did your SS payout go down like mine? -$500/mon = $108,000 payout deduction over my life. just like that and no notification:)
- +1 y
@exitseven What was the reason for the deduction?
- +1 y
they never said, I just opened SS statement and both my wife and I had $500 less. I assumed it was a finance game to deal with the debt. I'll log in again and see if it's changed.
- +1 y
@lightbulb27 No it did not but i should double check.
- +1 y
@exitseven Do You owe taxes or something?
- +1 y
to be clear, I don't draw SS yet, i just look at my statement... and the payout changes. In other words, don't count on those "numbers".

+1 y"Should"? Republicans should adjust their platform and look for a better candidate for 2028. Democrats should do the same. People should complain about their government - same as they always do. Everyone should realize that "democracy" doesn't mean you always get what you want.

+1 yI think some candidates might actually shift to more of a third party. Whether an actual political party or more an an ideological shift to the center I don't know but it doesn't seem that going further right is help them much. On that same token moving closer to the center on the democrat side is often times more helpful in winning elections statewide or nationally than moving further left.

+1 yCan’t win em all. So I think people “should” just get over it... as usual. Everytime one party loses to another, people simply complain but then suck up the tears and work towards serving new propaganda that will increase their chances of winning the next time around. This has been going on forever

The number one killer of authoritarians are other authoritarians so I will hide out until either the US gets its shit together or collapses completely.

Anonymous(36-45)+1 yI'm sorry, I can't focus on an answer because I'm reading some the responses. LOL It's hilarious that people think the cost of food or the cost of gas goes up or down depending on who is elected President of the USA! Based on what the Republicans proposed over the debt ceiling, there should never be a teacher, veteran, person on Medicaid or Medicare, an adult who needs food assistance, an adult with a kid struggling with gender issues, the list goes on, who ever votes for a Republican in this century again! LOL

Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yWell I'm just assuming that Trump gets the nomination again. And if he doesn't win then I think that either the Republicans have to turn on Trump which is very catastrophic. Or they have to do what the Republicans do best. They have to strike a deal with Trump. We'll continue to support you, but you got to let us mold you a bit into something that is more palatable to the swing voter. Because just the Republican base isn't going to get it done. The Republicans will keep losing with Trump at the helm until the democrats do something catastrophic that makes Trump a palatable option.

Anonymous(18-24)+1 yIf they lose in 2024 they should keep nominating the orangutan over and over so the majority of the country can have time to fix the damage he did the first time around. Who knows, maybe they will get lucky and 70% of the country will sleep through election day and they might win one before they all die off...

+1 yThe only candidate that the walking barely animated corpse of a president that Joe Biden can beat is Trump.
I am NOT voting for Trump in the primaries and if you are a conservative you shouldn’t either.

Agreed.

@Jamie05rhs he’s way up in the primary polls which is exactly what the democrats.
We need to get through the stubborn (and I’m sorry but stupid) republicans that there is no substitute for victory. Vote for DeSantis. - +1 y
@blueonblack I agree with you. Completely. We're totally on the same page here.
- +1 y
@Jamie05rhs just noticed how GAG has turned my screen name pink. How cute. I think that’s no coincidence considering a different post I put up.
But anyway DeSantis offers the best of Trump’s strengths minus all of Trump’s increasingly long list of foibles.
The only reason why Trump’s a front runner right now is because of stupid ass egos some conservatives have. Ego hasn’t won us an election since 2016. I just hope to God if Trump gets disqualified from running and/or loses the primaries he doesn’t say something asinine like telling his voters to pack up and go home (not vote at all). Sadly there are people that are that zombie like out there on the right. That’s what costs the republicans the senate. Trump couldn’t keep his f*cking mouth shut and told Georgia voters the system was rigged and a radical left senator won the run off election.
Anyway I’m ranting. But guys like us need to inform other conservatives what’s really going on. You can thank Trump for his time, sympathize about what’s happening to him (although he did set himself up) but it’s time to cut the rope in 2024. - +1 y
@blueonblack22 Yep! Once again, I agree with everything you said.
- +1 y
And he not only cost us the Senate seat in Georgia but also in Pennsylvania.
- +1 y
(Sorry; BOTH Senate seats in Georgia.)
- +1 y
And don't forget Alabama as well. (Even though we won that one back.)
- +1 y
@Jamie05rhs conservatives NEED to build DeSantis. His biggest drawback is he’s isn’t a household nor branded the same way Biden and Trump are. Also as admittedly he has hit of a dry personality. But you don’t elect politicians to be f*cking entertained. You vote for them to get a job done.
Still though he needs a motto. I would go with “Draw The Line” something similar to Trump’s Make America Great Again. Point out what the modern democrat party really is: communism - +1 y
@blueonblack22 I agree.

Stock up on provisions , get plenty of ammunition and get a couple of portable generators. It will be a bumpy ride. Think Bolchavic Revolution.

Do you think that if a Republican wins in 2024, they'll screw the US up like they did California?
