Who is celebrating the King's Birthday?

The actual holiday is all over the shop. I think Canada has already done it. England is still to do it. New Zealand has just done it. In Australia we haven't even got it consistent across our various states.

For me, it is the King's Birthday today. I have, of cause, only known Queen's Birthdays before so there is a historical aspect to - enough to buy a jug of beer and drink his health.

Anybody else?

I don't actually give a stuff either but as it was the first for 72 years I thought I'd make a little effort. Not going to do it again till the King's Birthday is relocated to Jan 8th as suggested by NameofStars below. It was very very cold yesterday.

Charles III. I don't know what they thinking of when they named him. In fact Charles I was so bad the English revolted and had to cut his head off. This goes back to the 1600's. I'd like to argue that led to you guys revolting ~100 years later. Charles II wasn't much better. So the name is sort of cursed.

I don't know what Jan 8th is about but I like the thinking. June 12th is too goddamned cold.

I will start lobbying for Jan 8th when we have summer evenings and it is more conducive to sipping beer.

I worked it out eventually and thanks for confirming. I've raised it with a couple of people to test reactions and positive feedback on a warmer time of year. It is only 9 days from the winter solstice for gods sake.

Being also Elvis' birthday would make it a twofer. Great suggestion.
