Your child identifies as the moon. Would you support them?

In the UK there's been a spat of kids identifying as non human things such as cats, dogs, foxes, and squirrels. One boy even identifies as a moon.

Now I'm guessing they're all just taking the piss to wind up the teachers. But what of the parents? Do you think they are encouraging and supporting their fun or do they really believe that little johny really believes he's a badger?

If my child identified as the moon, I would absolutely support them. The moon is so mysterious and majestic—it cycles between the fullness of its light and the emptiness of its dark. Kids don't come up with these ideas on their own. Parents, schools, government, idiots on social media, someone is panting these ridiculous notions in their heads.

This nonsense has gone way beyond make believe. It's not the same as a boy playing at being Spiderman or a T-rex or a girl playing at being a princess or a butterfly. It's fun humoring a kid when they know the difference between fantasy and reality.

But now we have sick people insisting that fantasy is reality.

Humans are the only things that wear clothes. So if you're not a human, you don't get any clothes.
You think you're a badger? Sleep in a hole in the ground.
You think you're a cat? Eat cat food and use a litter box.
You think you're a dog? Eat dog food. And when you have to pee or poop, we'll take you for a walk on a leash.
You think you're the moon? Stand naked in the yard all night in a spotlight.

I think a child would see reality pretty quickly.

What did the expect. Kids are going to know the difference between all these pronouns and sexualises. Mastering the difference between her and him is hard enough. If you tell kids they can identify as anything they want they will choose something fun.

No, I wouldn't support them. I saw a documentary once about this. There was an entire hospital filled with teenagers who 'identified' as an animal, etc. They were all bonkers.

Joking aside, it's mostly kids trolling and pushing boundaries. But it shows how weak and timid the education system has become that kids are telling teachers, rather than the other way round.

Id encourage the little sht to dress like " The moon " , that gives him/her one colour and a few shapes , Id make em study the moon , I'd constantly play vids of Neil Armstrong walking in a sand filled factory with moon toys , when he/she came to me and said they " no longer associated as moon " , I'd tell em , you can't just change " You are the fking moon , on earth " .

I certainly wouldn't humiliate them by ridiculing their beliefs. Kids have all sorts of crazy ideas, including but not limited to the boogeyman under the bed or the imaginary friend. And you know what? Most of them grow out of it when they see that their beliefs don't match up with reality.

Plus I'd save money on the food bill because the Moon doesn't need to eat.
