I think you need to be more specific. The last time the national debt was paid off was during the Jackson administration. So in a way of speaking we've been bankrupt for almost 200 years. The wealth is in the private sector. Did you mean what if that went bankrupt? Or if all the wealth left this country? There are measures to minimize that. But that is a concern which is why it's balancing act that our lawmakers have to play.

I actually have looked into potentially moving somewhere else (Costa Rica for example). Despite what liberals would have you believe. For all our faults, all in all the United States is still the greatest country in the world. It would have to get pretty bad for me to ever leave. And the FACT of the matter is. As the United States goes, so goes the rest the world. If we are hurting that bad here. Most likely wherever you go outside the United States they'll likely be hurting twice as bad.
