In regards to WW2 Germany, are there a lot of nationalistic Germans that view the time period fondly? Aren’t these guys low key kinda based 😂?

And then of course how that Dutch chick tries to guilt trip the Veterans but it just ends up backfiring on her miserably and they leave her speechless. 😂

But still, it was an interesting perspective to hear how the Germans saw the war as part of an effort to contain communism.

Its too bad though that the Soviets managed to swallow up half of Europe after the war though.

I almost question why Western countries came to the aid of the Soviet Union during the war if it just enabled them into a stronger balance of power within post war Europe

If you're a true history buff of WW2 you would know there were two sides of the war. There were the Nazis and the Germans. Completely separate. I know they were the same country, but they represented different political views. Many Germans hated Hitler, but obviously never said so out loud because they would have been imprisoned or worse. It's also important to remember that the Germans invented some amazing stuff during the war that we still use today, like Velcro, the highway and the inflatable sex doll. The first assault rifle was invented by the Germans.

Kind of. They are much like US soldiers and Marines who fought in the war on terror. Still proud of what they did and a real comradeship among them as they were in hell fighting for nothing.

WW2 German troops really need to justify the war and sacrifice thst it was for something but truthfully the average US serviceman fought for similar reasons even if today we are told it was for freedom and justice.

The US emerged from WW2 as the richest most powerful nation in history, there was a reason for that. Same thing happened after the cold war and soon after this conflict in Ukraine.

There were many sides to the war, from the fading British empire, the Ottoman empire, The Japanese empire, the communists, the Nazi's and the fucking Americans.

Only the Americans really won out in the end.

But it's really common sense- if your country gets destroyed, part of it occupied by its most bitter enemy, millions of people killed and tens of millions displaced while your country becomes an international pariah, are you going to look back fondly on a destructive war your country lost?
