Is there a movement in history academics to potray the Nazis in a more favorable light?

Seems like there's been a shift in academics to no longer demonize Nazis, but rather to begin forgiving them. Is this shift recent or has it been happening for a while?

the history prof wasn't all negative about it

Sometimes it makes me wonder if they're actually secretly Nazis because I grew up with looking at the Nazis in a negative light.

The propaganda of the Nazis was really strong. It still works on people today. I think that is why it is so denounced and when someone speaks of the Nazis in a light that isn't damnation, it makes me wonder if they believe in those ideologies.
