I always wondered this. the only place we men are dominant is in bed. but when we try to be dominant outside the bed we are more likely to get prosecuted somehow both by law and society under the name of toxic masculinity.

they forget that the vast majority of men even throughout history were at the bottom of the hierarchy from peasants to merchants to soldiers to slaves. today there's plenty of men who are broke, homeless, in prison, working low paying jobs and can't just marry a rich woman to save them
kings, emperors, warlords were at the top as are politicians, CEOs and pro-athletes who are only a small percentage of the entire total male population. in no way are men more dominant however for the average man, all it takes is one false accusation of rape to tear him down for good and never recover. celebrity men require multiple false claims of rape to take them down but as already stated before, they are a rarity amongst the male population

I would say it is because of the basic fact that women are the ones most affected by pregnancy and children, especially when you consider that women didn't have effective birth control in the past and had many pregnancies. It is very difficult to become a leader in your society when you have many children. You have other priorities. I would say that it has only been since the invention of the pill that our society has been significantly the changing the role of women. We are still in the adjustment today.

I'm not going to be dominated by anyone. I don't think anyone wants to be dominated. Women are smart and capable. They are not power hungry predators. If men respect and appreciate them, they will reciprocate?
