Do white people have a culture?

I often have People of Color tell me that white people don't have a culture. perhaps most things they love and take for granted like most major sports, music, movies, performing arts even the modern education system is derived from white Culture. Maybe white people seem to have no culture because like everything else the is white they think belongs to everybody.

Those particular black people who say that are morons. They wear clothing styles invented by whites, eat food invented by whites, play and watch sports invented by whites, drive cars invented by whites, listen to music on devices invented by whites, play musical instruments invented by whites, use phones and internet invented by whites. Their entire lifestyles from homes to infrastructure were invented by whites. I'm not saying that black people didn't contribute a lot.

What do those blacks use or participate in that was invented by blacks? Jazz, blues, hip hop, twerking, peanutbutter?

Maybe they are just stupid and uneducated and thinking about all white people like they are white Americans. People try to say Americans have no culture, especially white Americans. All the countries in Europe where white Americans come from have plenty of their own culture, but that culture is not particularly kept alive once most of them have been here in America for multiple generations. The whole "Americans have no culture" is just a euro snob bourgeois attitude, we are still looked at as a new country by them.

Yes we do. There are many different cultures within white people. I am Swedish and my culture is different from American culture and other european countries.

We have different holidays like Midsommar where we celebrate sunlight😂, we have other traditional food, we celebrate Christmas the 24th etc.

That's a fact lol doesn't matter how people "feel" about it. But I think a lot of time they are refering to US alone but US also has culture..

White people consists of many many different groups of people with different origin and ethnic backgrounds so there are many many many different white cultures because yes, of course white people have culture. It’s not only about what you listed. We have different languages, different traditions and holidays, folklores and fairytales, traditional clothing, traditional dances, songs etc.

No. "White people" does not have a culture. "Black people" in the context of Americans do because they have a shared experience of having their heritage erased and all that due to slavery. Individual groups of "white people" do have culture such as Germans or English or whatever. It can sometimes be harder to identify this culture because it is something that often bleeds into other cultures like for example how McDonalds and Hollywood has spread American culture around the world and making that "normal".

If you dont think a group of people have a culture then you are probably living within that culture to the point where you can no longer see it as anything aside from how things should naturally be.

@Juxtapose I would not say vastly and either way they have had a fundamental impact on American culture. It is simply something you can't escape no matter how "white" you want to pretend your country is.

In 1900 the USA was 87.9% white and we achieved Independence in 1776. I think you don't really know what you're talking about.

@Juxtapose First of all, that depends entirely how you define "white", those people in 1900 would definitely argue with you on this point and perhaps also murder you in a back alley for your beliefs that the Irish or the Italians or whatever else were part of the white race.

But that is besides the point. Even if we go with your own numbers (which I doubt but I honestly dont care about correcting), that does not prevent them from fundamentally influencing Americas culture. For example, "Southern Heritage" and whatnot was built on the foundation of slavery which then caused a civil war that entrenched cultural differences between the north and the south.

That difference between north and the south is not coming from white people, but from the existence of black slaves and their status in society. They are the catalyst for this change in culture and something that never really happened back in Europe which again makes America different from "the rest" of white culture.

No matter how many white people you have in America, the fact remains that you are culturally isolated from Europe. You have different sports, different music, different history, different people and different politics. You are not the same. You are not part of the white culture.

White people have a culture but they are secure enough in it that they don't have to wave it in everybody's face. An example of white culture is a Little League game. Parents show up with lawn chairs and snacks to watch them play baseball No broken windows and no arrests. The worst thing that happens is a parent might get carried away and yes at one of the umpires

The wild west, new england, the founding fathers, the Puritans that came from England, the Battle of Gettysburg, White America being all over the world and so on. White people have a huge amount of culture and these black people who say we don't think that just because we don't gyrate in music videos like degenerates means we don't have a culture.

I have heard black people say a lot of ridiculously stupid and racist things about white people such as we are aliens, we don't have a history, Nick Cannon saying we lack souls because we don't have melanin, and the one you mentioned. We need to call them out as racist retards when they say this shit. I would also like to remind them that white people invented electricity, flight, antibiotics, the internet, democracy, and the concept of human rights.

There are many ethnic sub-groups of white (an any other race) people who have cultures. There are also many different cultures for black people.
