I live in a metropolitan area are we talking all of Salt Lake City, the neighborhood, my direct neighbors, or just those in my house?

All of salt lake city, I would reach out to friends in other states and see if it was universal. I'm pretty set up for independent living, but I would want to stock up on some canned goods etc. I would imagine if an entire city disappeared there would be military or federal law enforcement involvement. I would just shelter in place, we have solar, a generator, a well etc. I would probably hook up our water purifier to the well just to be safe. I would also contact authorities to let them know that SOMEONE was still living here in case they planned on leveling the city. Utilities would eventually collapse without maintenance and it would be vital for me to dig an outhouse and put in a greenhouse. Hopefully the dogs are still here.

The neighborhood or house I probably wouldn't notice, my wife often goes on morning walks and if the family wasn't up I wouldn't notice for a while. Once I did I would try and track down my wife. Yes eventually I would contact the authorities to prevent being shot as a looter or some such. But the principle stays, but the need for utility independence isn't nearly as vital. I would assume that as long as I kept paying for my utilities they would continue servicing them.

But the biggest concerns are survival, then figuring out what happened. An idea that my wife and family is gone forever would be heavy, hopefully the animals are still here.

I’d be creeped out and worried about my fam. But i’d just chill at home and wait for them to come back. After 24 hours i’d worry a bit more but I don't know what i’d do. Maybe sleep in or take pills to keep awake in case Freddys out to get me too

I'd be checking on the animals, first. Then seeing if the area is still safe or if I need to worry about looters.

Then I'd probably start stealing shit, lmao.

Neighbours have a smoker/BBQ unit I can take care of until they're back or I die in the apocalypse.

check if my family and friends are okay, probably break into my neighbours' houses to see wsg and maybe go shop & stock up on some household items. assume that everybody except me had been abducted by aliens or that i managed to sleep through an entire emergency evacuation.

Try to figure out where they´ve all gone. If I can´t figure that out I´d try to figure out a way to get my place more secure since I´m now alone and I can´t depend on other people that I trust being around all day keeping an eye on my home.
