What’s your definition of Woke?

NOT someone else’s, the dictionary if it’s in there, YOURS. I want to see everyone’s personal definition or description of Wokism or Woke.

For me, it’s simply politeness. Annoying sometimes? Sure. But it’s life.

Engaging in class (ie "eat the rich"), race (ie "white privilege"), gender (ie "patriarchy") or sexual orientation (ie "cis") warfare, tokenism in media or to use things like climate change or whatever the disaster of the decade to justify the raising of our taxes or violation of our freedoms.

The reason it is called "woke" is because the people who engage in such ideas pretend they are enlightened when they aren't engaging in anything new or useful in reality.

When people say that a piece of media is woke, they mean that the media promotes one of those things to appease forces external to the story. Sometimes it really takes you out of the story (When a character is race or gender swapped, which usually changes the character's personality in the process) and sometimes it is subtle (making a female character a lot more of the badass action hero specifically to dunk on the male characters).

Media that engages in such shoehorning of propaganda end up suffering in the actual quality of the movie because all the effort goes into making sure it appeals to those outside forces.

In other words, you might as well be watching a PSA that you will be paying out of pocket to see. Of course, no one wants to go out of their way to watch one and that's why they put it in things like superhero movies.

Sensitivity taken to the extreme by using politeness, empathy, equality/equity to the extreme and framing it as the norm in an attempt to truly unleash it as a weapon after conditioning people to believe it on anyone who disagrees with the policies it claims to represent regardless if it is truly in violation of anything.

To put it simply, wokeness is a brainwashing and indoctrination ideology on people who are easily influenced and hivemind thinkers to embrace new harmful and toxic norms in place of established tradition, values, personal beliefs and free speech and in turn shame, harm or ostracize people who refuse to kneel to it or follow it.

Like for example, there's a stark difference between identifying how you want to be seen as, and ruining someone's career because they didn't do it.

Or the culture of trying to call someone racist if they aren't diverse enough.

Umbrella term for individuals who are engrossed by social justice and thinks of themselves as saviors with a moral high ground, but remain willfully ignorant to the irrationality of their claims and the problems they create. These individuals give special treatment to certain minorities in hopes of ending racism and perpetuate mental illnesses as the norm.

Woke is an extension of cultural marxism taken to it's most extreme and obnoxious level. People are categorized based on inherent or assumed properties, split into oppressed and oppressor groups accordingly. Where people used to get recognition and praise for accomplishing something, you can now get recognition and praise by inserting yourself into one of these "oppressed" groups.

To me a person is "woke" who seeks out conflicts where there are none. Even at the point of inventing some form of imagined injustice. They would rather make something about race, religion, gender or whatever than listen to and argue the motivation why things are the way they are and then paradoxally fix whatever they think is wrong by doing exactly what they accuse others of, to base access or opportunity on race, religion, gender etc.

I heard that term for the first time about 10 years ago before it got weaponized. When I heard it it was so cringe. A self righteous prick trying to differentiate himself from every one else. So that's my definition. I'm left leaning and always cringe when I hear that word. The right uses it for EVERYTHING and the left use it to say how much more "tolerant" they are.
