What you'll find is that virtually EVERY hero has their share of flaws, and that's ESPECIALLY true if you (UNFAIRLY) try to judge them using MODERN mores when they didn't live in the modern world. You might THINK you wouldn't have been racist, sexist, classist, or whatever, but in reality, in most cases, that was the social mainstream opinion, and you almost certainly would have thought the same way yourself if you'd lived in that era.

Still, people are human beings, with flaws. I have flaws, and so do you. In THIS modern era, Elon Musk is hard to dispute as being the most important human being doing by far the most to improve and advance the human condition, and he does many things better than anyone - but he's got plenty of flaws too. His record of choosing women is very suspect, and he is really too busy to be a husband and father, yet he has quite a few children with many different women.

You can do this with virtually anyone you look up to - if you find out enough about them, you'll discover things that you'd rather not know. Because people are not abstract ideas, they are full, complete, flawed human beings with at least some human weaknesses. And, yet, that does not take away from the important things they've contributed to the world.

Accepting that means being able to accept subtlety and shades of grey, which many people can't or won't do - some people MUST make everything black or white, all good or all bad. And by that standard, we're ALL bad, because we've all got flaws.
