I like Istanbul. The women of Turkey are beautiful, stunning. I enjoy the coffee there. I have a Turkish brass tea set here from my travels there. My sons and friends used the tea glasses for shot glasses while they had a weeklong party here. I bought it at the Grand Bazaar. I guess what they did is funny in a way. I enjoyed the Blue Mosque and the Haigia Sophia. A friend married a woman from Turkey and like many others there she was beautiful.

I am still annoyed and haven’t forgiven the government there for wanting to charge $500,000 for each American soldier to cross their land to attack Iraq during the was with Saddam. Unforgivable for an Allie.

Generally speaking, I've only met nice Turkish folks. My best friend since primary school is from Turkey, but her family has lived in my country for many years and decided to stay out of Turkish politics. I've heard from them that the most recent election only got won bc the president got the most votes from abroad and not in his country - please correct me if this is false - and if that is the case, I find it problematic that they have the power to do that while not having to live in the country and live under the rules they voted for, when others who do live there have to.

This is not the impression I have. In Europe, turks are living in turkish communities. They don't make any effort to learn the local language or respect the inhabitants. The worse might be in Germany with all those turkish mafias
