I would probably need more than just a time machine, like a wizard cloak and an luck potion or whatever but I think it would be funny to hijack the planes and fly them into the Bush family home.

Or at the very least post some flaming dog shit through the letter box.

If I said anything to anyone official, they wouldn't take it seriously and then afterwards they would think I was in on it.

So I'd call everyone I could find who was killed and tell them not to go in the buildings or fly on those planes that day, and to spread the word to anyone else they know. If someone called me and said "don't fly on flight 11" I would think they were crazy, but I wouldn't fly on that plane.

At least it would save some lives.

I second this. Who would believe you. Really, all you can do is try. What if they somehow blamed you for trying to warn them? Like “You were trying to distract us by making some ridiculous claim, you’re the terrorist.”

I would tell george bush to practice acting more surprised when he heard that it happened on tv. He knew its going to happen. And no this is not a conspircy theory. Those same buildings were under attack back in 1993 and it failed. Those building were always a target and the CIA knew. The Germans warned the US about a cell planning this attack in Hamburg and still the US played dumb.
