This hard to answer. Let me use Superman as an example. I've always liked Superman. But if human nature has taught me anything it's that humans fear what they do not understand. My adult self realizes if a creature from a planet ever came to earth with powers beyond that of mortal men. That humans would NEVER embrace him. Because they would view him as the single greatest threat humanity has ever faced.

I guess what I'm saying is I would try to be a hero. Try to fight for the greater good. But what is the greater good? Defeating some warlord starving people in Africa, that's easy. Stopping mass genocide, again also easy. But what about politics between nations? Cold War Superman always said "I fight for truth, justice, and the American way". I'm patriotic. But I'm not so doe eyed as to think my country do questionable things at times.

All I'm saying being the hero and knowing what is right isn't always black and white.

I would be a superhero. I have wanted to do this since I was a little kid. Imagine being able to make a big difference in somebody's life by beating up a mugger or stopping a bank robbery. Maybe even bring a crooked politician to justice.
