I think the media has been pushing the idea that the only thing that matters is age because trump is basically the same age as Biden. The implication is that if anyone other than trump gets the nomination, the media will ensure all of the successes of Biden's policies will continue to go unmentioned, an only age will be discussed, to give the republican the maximum chance. So, the media and the GOP is basically saying they will give republican voters the white house if republican voters will choose anyone other than Trump. And because the media has spent decades pushing the theme that the most important thing is to make Democrats mad, I think republican voters will probably fall for it.
