It’s uncomfortable for me too. Honestly it depends on the person. Some people I get along with great, while others ehhhhh. Not so much.

The hard part is meeting someone the first time. Some people you get to know better and are great. Others not so much

i genuinely hate being around others i don’t know, like if you’re my friend, don’t bring me around big groups of new people, don’t put me in situations with people i don’t know, don’t bring YOUR friend that i don’t know, around me. like most of the time when meeting new people, they’re not gonna like you anyways. especially if you don’t drink or smoke.
