Trending & News FYI Republicans ousted Kevin McCarthy as speaker of the house.

Well it won't really be a good thing if someone worse replaces him, and it won't really matter much if the replacement is just more of the same, which there's about a 90% chance of happening. This is the same Congress in which demanding that the current out of control spending be reverted to pre-covid levels of out of control spending makes one a "radical."
Regarding McCarthy specifically, this was long overdue. He has been backdoor dealing since before he took the position, and he's another McConnell/Cornyn fake conservative party stooge out to enrich and empower himself first and foremost. The house speaker is also critical to the fundraising and campaigning for other house members, and with next year's elections approaching, McCarthy hasn't exactly instilled confidence in his ability to lead the party. It's a good thing to see what's essentially the second most powerful elected position put to the torch, but the bittersweet reality is that there's really less than ten actual conservative Republicans in the house spearheading that effort, and the Democrats who also voted along with it do so solely because they're obligated to do so. This means that more than likely, there won't be a clear replacement candidate, and there's even a plausible chance McCarthy gets reinstated in exchange for some concessions. No doubt those concessions will be reverting back to pre-Pelosi norms, but McCarthy will scream and b*tch like it's unreasonable anyway.
I think it wasn´t a good move. Not because I´m a great fan of McCarthy but to me it puts the Republicans in a bad light since it just shows to the public that Republicans are more bothered with themselves than the nation or government since they block their own influence on the US government by that. I would have more sympathy if they actually had a plan who shall be the new one but as there is no successor they can present I´d say it´s a silly move. It could take a long time since the McCarthy took 15 rounds to be elected as speaker the next one might take equally long.
It seems odd I thought he seemed less worse than some of the other right wingers. I'm sure the next speaker will be worse and not do anything in a bipartisan manner, which is sad.
Honestly, I think it needed to happen. He talked a lot, but never actually did anything.

Seems like theater, honestly. They are just trying to put on a show to trick people into believing there is a difference between the far right nazis in the GOP and the regular nazis in the GOP. But there isn't. Really. They are all equally cash grabbing con artists with the only difference between them being how mad they get on camera, which means nothing when it comes to policy.
Core conservatives just knew it would be the same old shit o a different day. They were willing to accept Democrat votes to fire him. But the speaker they select might end up being butt puckering. The Constitution allows them to appoint... Trump.
The Republican base wants to burn everything down to make everyone else as miserable as they are. The Republican politicians pander to them because that keeps them in office.
Just shows how fucked up Gaetz and the other nutjobs are. Amazing that their districts continue to elect them; glad I don't live in one.
Good for them. He was an establishment do nothing but for those in power.
It is nothing to celebrate. However it was something that needed to be done. We are drowning in debt.
i'm happy, but i doubt anything will change. I 100% support politicians who do nothing but blow a lot of smoke up everyone's butt being removed from office or positions of power and influence.
Good! As an aside, I hooked up with Patrick McHenry’s sister when we were younger.
Good! Biden should be on his 3rd impeachment by now. We need someone like Margie Taylor Green.
The writing was on the wall when it took so many votes in the first place.
The Democrats carried the vast majority of the vote. Despite introducing the motion, it was only a tiny minority of Republicans who actually voted for removal.
You can prove anything with facts.
Dumbasses. The country is doomed.
i've been enjoying the show lol
Who knows these days everything off
