Truth is that Israel probably organised the attacks. The Israelis I believe fear the politics of the Palestinians more than the guns. Gerry Adams used to say that of the Unionists in Northern Ireland who along with factions of the British authorities would have preferred the troubles continued indefinitely. We've had nearly 30 years of peace, most of the military installations have been dismantled, all the state paramilitary organisations were disbanded, the police has been demilitarised and are more representative of the population and police both communities and Sinn Fein are now in power as the biggest party.
What the Palestinians should actually do is to get rid completely of their weapons and concentrate on building up their country because they are never ever going to be able to challenge the Israelis militarily and the Israelis would prefer them to fight. Between all the neighbouring Arab Muslim countries there is plenty of money that could be used to build up Palestine's infrastructure rather than their arsenal. The latest attack on Israel is exactly what the under fire Israeli government wanted, now prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his ultra nationalist right-wing party gets to stay in power and push their policy of Israeli settlements on Palestinian lands.

I don't know, but it seems unlikely that Mossad didn't know about the planned attack. It's possible that the government knew about it, just like FDR knew about the Pearl Harbor attack ahead of time and let it happen as a way to convince the American people to support the war. Innocent lives had to be sacrificed in order to accomplish that.

So it's possible that Israel used the attack as an excuse to justify the full occupation and absorption of Gaza; to wipe it off the map as it has always intended.

Keep in mind the gigantic natural gas fields off the Gaza coast that are part of the territory of an independent Palestinian Gaza.

Israel is rapacious and perfidious. What are a few innocent lives when there is so much to gain? After all, it has been murdering innocent Palestinians for decades.

No I don't. They likely helped fund and arm them too. The Israeli government was under pressure for heir treatment of the Palestinians internationally and internationally so it would make perfect sense for them to orchestrate an attack like this to justify their military actions. The US did this with ISIS and Al Queda
