B4 all this started the Israeli government was under pressure abroad and domestically over the treatment of the Palestinians, more pressure than ever even from staunch allies and neutrals.

But after HAMAS launched their attack murdering and taking hostages and firing ballistic missiles at Israel, the Israeli government has global support to bomb the positions these rockets are firing from and evacuate Gaza of the civilian popular for there own safety for when the IDF goes in to clear out HAMAS. If HAMAS executes all those hostages it will galvanise even more support for the Israeli government and make HAMAS look like even bigger monsters that need to be stopped so in fact it will serve the Israeli government's aims that HAMAS execute the hostages so they can clear every last Palestinian out of Gaza never to let them return again and within 5-20 year Israeli citizens will have completely colonised Gaza.

If you want to know why something happened often you got to look at the end result. There's an overall plan here, how will the end result benefit Israeli interests? HAMAS f*cked up & did exactly what the Israelis wanted them to, the Israeli government knew this was coming and let it happen.

I think they have an eye on the hostages already but the problem is as most times that getting the hostages out is way harder. So I´d assume they tried to buy time with bombing similar as the Russians do in the Ukraine and demoralise the population. So that they have a enough troops, weapons and a strategy to invade Gaza by foot.

close, the goal is the rescue mission. if gaza has a strong defense, the rescue mission will fail , so part of rescuing the hostages is destroying communication and other infrastructure etc. any weapon storage in certain mosques and certain hospitals etc.
