Why do Americans differ from the British despite having the same origins?

I live in the Netherlands, a tiny country in Europe with only 18million citizens. You drive from 1 side to the other in 3 hours with the car.
We have like a dozen provinces and they all speak their own different type of Dutch language dialects which some of them I can't even understand🤷‍♂️

Americans and British are a Ocean apart so it's only logical they develop in a different way

We live in a freer society where personal responsibility is more important. As a result Americans are better innovators and are less tolerant of slackers.

A few reasons. 1 America is much much larger so even from one part to another there is a large cultural and linguistic difference not to mention another country away. 2 the US is a melting pot of many different cultures, there are large German, Russian, Spanish, French, Italian, Chinese and Native American influences. Britain didn't have the same level of influx of other cultures. 3 The US didn't have a unifying Monarchy or religion. Its been a representative democracy/republic since it broke from English rule. The idea of religious freedom is ratified into the laws and culture so many of the stabilizing influences in England weren't in the US. And lastly, communications between the two countries hasn't always been as easy as it is now. Newspapers and magazines could take weeks if not months to travel across the ocean so trends and fashion developed separately.

Some people believe that the war of independence in America was actually the second English civil war fought again 100 years later. Most of the extremist religious groups on England & anti-monarchist groups had left for America where they could have more autonomy & freedom to worship.

Americans came from all over the world. There was a lot of influence from other European countries, as well as the indigenous peoples, and former slaves.

The original Americans came from England but it was a very small number. Most Americans after that came from Italy and Poland.
