There's a lot of problems with big cities, yeah, but those problems won't be solved by turning them into rural towns. Cities have gangs, towns have clans. Cities have overpolicing, towns have undersupervised policing. It's often the same shit in a different (still bad) recipe. I grew up in a city so I'm not gonna act like I know a lot about rural life, but my mom grew up in that kinda town & there's a good reason we never visited.

It's not better. It's different. Often u see the best in what ur familiar with, & the other seems terrible by comparison, but the problems are systemic they're everywhere. Many countries have big cities & rural towns that are fine. It's perfectly possible. America's just bad at some things in general.

Yes, but like I said, 181 isn't that bad. Of course, I know a great many towns with low double digit per 1000 people, but everybody can't live there, because there's just not enough room in the town for that, nor would everyone want to. Everybody doesn't want that lifestyle. Small towns come with tradeoffs. I know lots of people that would have to drive three towns over to go to a movie theater. For the people that like to go every weekend because they have A-List or MoviePass or whatever else is out there, that would get tiring fast.

Didn't have a gas station for nearly three months because of EPA and insurance and whatever other paperwork was involved there. Our public schools are failing our kids and it has gotten much worse since covid. Everybody graduates whether that can read or not. When these kids get to college they can't do the work.
