+1 ylol. Nope.
One think I can say as I Canadian is that we never seem to learn from past mistakes. We have no spine when it comes to standing up against the US. We have no business being involved in a lot of political conflict just because we are on the US side. Everyone knows US doesn’t have faith or loyalty to anyone or any nation. Safe to say we are on our own.01 Reply- +1 y
you can't be serious, u. s. PATROLLED the north atlantic and Canada coat ftom the start of world war 2, 1939 to "gauruntee" safety of neutral shipping. think of nato allliance and norad too!

I'd imagine it would be in their best interest to help. Pretty sure the government is more scared of Russia than Canada. I feel like they would help Canada just to keep Russia at bay, nothing more.

m +1 yyes... both Canada and Mexico, the Caribe...
and there are pre-plans for this as well
even if very small... all of the armed Elite forces in Mexico are trained also by the USA and other allies as well
a more accurate point would be that, even if they tried... no invading army would actually ever make it to North America, not en masse anyway...30 Reply
+1 yHypothetically yes because of being allied through NATO but, but this has Afghanistan 2.0 written all over it. Soviets come in US kicks them out then US takes over. Its no secret the US tried to invade Canada in the past and the future looks no different. 😂

@blackgaletiger. Of course, as an American, I wouldn't have a problem selling Canada to the Russians 🤔.
- +1 y
in 1700s long ago and during a war. not exactly invaded.
- +1 y
@KrakenAttackin Wait! Canada was our Allie during WWII and many died with our troops on D Day. It was a place a lot of conscient objectors went to and were welcomed during the Vietnam war. So why would you sell them out?
- +1 y
Im sure the sell out is a joke. No way would the United States of Ambition sell the opportunity to resources that they are running out of. Its prime investment 🧐
- +1 y
@DubiousIntentions Not "sell them out", just sell them (period). Canadians are a woke disaster with Trudy marching down the path of Communism. Of course we aren't far behind.

+1 ySet aside the fact that both the USA and Canada are paet of NATO:
It would be in the USA's best interest to defend Canada. Us-Canada border is the largest in the world. That's a lot of area to dedicate to defense.30 Reply 495 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. We have a longstanding defense agreement with Canada and trade treaties... That said Trudeau is trying to turn Canada into a totalitarian socialist dictatorship. If you look to history the United States and Germany signed a peace treaty and trade treaty in the 1920s, yet we went to war with them in 1941 because a National Socialist dictator was running a muck... Terms can change based on a state's behavior.

+1 yYes- we're both part of NATO. See, in order to reach Russia from the US (by the most direct route that doesn't involve Alaska), you have to head north through the frozen wilderness; keep going long enough, and you reach Russia. In order to reach the US from Russia (by the most direct route that doesn't involve Kamchatka), you have to head north through the frozen wilderness; keep long enough, and you reach the US.
Canada's weird like that.

+1 yOf course, the US and Canada are allies, and any invasion of Canada would be a threat to the US, its neighbor.
20 Reply 2.6K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. It has been a geopol agreement for a long time. Plus Canada is in Nato and an attack on one is an attack on all.
UK, France, Germany should pile in too.
Same goes if they attack Alaska.

Anonymous(25-29)+1 yI would hope so. An attack on Canada would be a precursor to invading the USA, if it happened. With the worthless idiot in the White House now, I’m not even sure he’d defend us. He clearly has no interest in keeping us safe from possible terrorist coming through our southern border.

Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yYes. Not only for their proximity to us but because we're obligated through NATO. Canada is a founding member of NATO. And article 5 of the NATO states that an attack on one NATO ally is an attack on all. So not only would the United States but all of NATO would have to come to Canada's defense.
This is why Russia does not want Ukraine joining NATO.

+1 yAs for the United States we handout millions & billions of dollars to other countries & knowing our government they would probably be stupid enough to say no on this one.

@purplepoppy. With what? The Russian cardboard body armor, defective ammunition, 50+ year old conscripts? #TurkeyShoot.
+1 yWith the right leadership; the U. S. would help their neighbor. The U. S. has done so in the past with other neighbors.
00 ReplyI think yes, Canada is USA's neighbour and if Russia takes over Canada (which they easily will if they try) then that puts USA at risk.. to have enemies this close
10 Reply8K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Of course. Not only is Canada a NATO ally, it is a neighbor and the US obviously doesn't want it conquered by a hostile nation.

11 moHighly doubtful. They probably wouldn’t accept help from President Trump. If anything Canada would more likely act AGAINST the US in a third world war…

m +1 yFrom a strategic point, Russia would have to invade Alaska first and Canada second.
00 Reply I’d assume so. Ukraine is one thing but Canada? Canada is right next to us. I feel like it would be a full blown war if Russia took one step into Canadian soil.

10 Reply 1.7K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Wouldn't surprise me if Canada and the USA were on opposite sides if Trudeau stays in
