The way left wing Americans use the terms would be the right wing doesn't even exist as a neutral entity, you have to exaggerate it with emotional content and anyone that isn't a socialist has to be at least far-right to fit their narrative. Far-right according to them from what I can interpret would encompass capitalism, classical liberalism, and republican constitutionalism for the most part. What they consider normal social standards is pure communism, socialism, fascism, anarchy, and theocracy. Alt-right according to them is anyone that they already consider far-right that does independent research and journalist work to inform the public of basic truth. They are of the opinion that you must subscribe to mass media narratives blindly and obey the state. They really hate when you don't just accept their narrative and publish facts that counter their position with logic. It flies in the face of their emotional outbursts.
In reality you have an economic spectrum that slides left to right. On the far-left you have centrally planned economies and total government control. In this type of system a dictator could for example cancel all student loans... On the far-right you have anarcho-capitalism were anything goes. The government has no control of the economy and individual liberty is prioritized. All services in this type of economy are contractual. While that might be OK when it comes to privatized education, it might not work so hot when it comes to privatized court systems that arbitrate over contractual disputes. I mean if you grease the judge's palm more than the next guy contracts becoming meaningless and the entire system falls apart.
Then you have a social spectrum which is generally represented as up and down where authoritarians in a police state have top down power ruling over the masses. For this to occur you need total government control. These groups naturally gravitate toward left wing economic systems for the control aspect of central planning, currency manipulation, heavy taxation, and government services. In contrast libertarians are at the other end of the spectrum with bottom up power were individuals rule over the government who are merely public servants that are accountable to we the people. Libertarians naturally gravitate toward right wing economic models due to the individual liberty this type of economic system provides.
Aside from that I would say you have ethno-religious conflicts in America. America was founded with principles set forth establishing freedom of religion in our Bill of Rights. This is a Classical Liberal idea, thus it is considered far-right by the left-wing in America. In reality it is a moderate ethnic tolerance ideology. Never the less those who want to conserve this moderate position that allows freedom of region are conservatives that believe in republican constitutionalism to maintain a rule of law that protects individual human rights. Therefor they are labeled as far-right by the left-wing. This is because pure communism, socialism, fascism, anarchy, and theocracy do not allow for freedom of religion. In left-wing systems you must worship their God and their God only. This Godhead they put forth is typically the State or more specifically the Dictator of the state which must be exulted above all else to be regarded as a living God in the left-wing’s eyes. Therefore any challenging religious ideologies must be destroyed under their system of governance.
People that are humans tend to favor right-wing economics, bottom up authority, and freedom. People that are drones, tend to like the total control of left-wing economics dictated over by a megalomaniac authoritarian who think they are God and don't need to consult a congress or the people when they choose to make mandates and provide charity in the form of student loan forgiveness. So are you a human man or a honey bee... That is the question...

I'm not a lefty but I know this stuff well enough to still give you an answer.
In their usual terms:
- Right: Economically right wing, traditionally christian.
- Far right: Typically populists and people standing up for the population and right wing talking points. So if anyone wants to do things like abolish international binding contracts, increase the power of the citizens, halt immigration, cut back on the government. They have a tendency to be slandered as far right.
- Alt right: Originally alternative right, but ended up becoming a term for white nationalists who look at society trough a racial lens. So if you think its better to have a white ethnostate then your probably alt right.
I can only speak for the UK and I appreciate it's different in America where things are different.
I would class our Conservatives/Tory government as right wing as would they. (But I understand Americans think they're commies).
Far right over here tends to point towards fringe parties that focus on single issues, usually race or religion and generally want to kick anyone the wrong colour or religion out of the country or worse. So it's things like the British National Party, Britain First or the English Defence League, etc.
They tend to attract people who have "love and hat" tattooed on their knuckles and don't do well at elections. One major difference between the UK and the USA is our main stream right wing party tends to distance itself from hate groups rather than embrace them.
@purplepoppy One major difference between the US and the UK is Americans don’t shag sheep.
Yeah you prefer pigs, less wool and they squeal more
@purplepoppy The Conservatives just want to deport them to Rwanda. The BNP want to sink them in the Channel before they get here.
Tory party is like Labour light these days. 750k net immigration. Coercion with experimental medical products. National debt is 100% of gdp. The state is ballooning and the private sector has shrunk. Lots of highly dubious draconian legislation increasing the power of the state and criminalising people at every turn. And I see benefits claims so I can see that people are getting 2000-2500k a month to shit out kids and not work. I suppose its how the media frames the tories as evil though right?
It's fine, people don't have to bother to think and scrutinise for themselves.
Unless we sort out the reasons people are leaving the shithole countries they'll keep coming.
Yes, of course.
But most migration is legal. 45k asylum seekers, so 700k net legal. The government is addicted to the tuition money, propping up a dodgy economy, a broken domestic labour force, and focusing on gdp despite our living standards subjectively probably being the worst they've been in the last 20 years.
The whole asylum thing I'd pretty much irrelevant in terms of numbers. Just a red herring to distract the masses.

Right wingers claim to want less government and more personal freedoms, but when they get in power, the opposite happens. Spending, deficits, debt expand along with tax breaks for the wealthy under right-wing/Conservative administrations in the USA. More restrictive laws get passed that take away freedoms, except when it involves guns. Don't believe it - look it up. The word compromise is weakness.
FAR right wingers are even more regressive and driven by white supremacy advocates who would prefer to reinstate slavery if they could, but since they can't, opt for segregation and deportation of anyone or anybody who isn't like them. They strive to keep people even more uneducated than they already are. They would opt to let corporate interests operate without any restrictions or regard for safety, and there would be no such thing as a monopoly, either apparent or covert. The word compromise is forbidden.
There are many more nuances, but that's it in a nutshell.
Yeah it’s so awful how they want people to have guns to protect themselves against government overreach and personal protection, and the way they want people to have a choice over what experimental vaccine they inject into their bodies is soooo 20th century. 🙄 What a bunch of tyrants!
Alt right playbook is a good enough prelude to start off with. Otherwise it would be a week of writing back and forth to even settle the starting point.

The Alternative Right, commonly known as the "alt-right," is a set of far-right ideologies, groups and individuals whose core belief is that “white identity” is under attack by multicultural forces using “political correctness” and “social justice” to undermine white people and “their” civilization
What does right mean?
The word right, in contrast, refers to people or groups that have conservative views. That generally means they are disposed to preserving existing conditions and institutions. Or, they want to restore traditional ones and limit change.
The term far right is often used for more extreme, nationalistic viewpoints, including fascism and some oppressive ideologies. People and groups, as well as their positions, are collectively referred to as the Right or the right wing.
The base, patriot prayer, proud boys
Did these answers help you out?
According to the BBC, anyone is far right if they want to control immigration in their country.
You can add to that white folks and heterosexuals.
@AngryCarl2 aye
Oh, never mind, I thought you ment left handed when you said lefties.
My bad.
Okay, I'll bite. Right is the Democrats, Far Right is the Republicans. Alt-Right is anyone with a podcast.
Tell us you're a communist without telling us you're a communist 🤡
@ImalwaysrightOK I'm a socialist. Completely different. Closest American to my politics would be Bernie.
Whenever someone tells you the differences. Then we will both know!
