At some point, the people of a nation need to be held responsible for the government they have and for what that government does or has done.

Hamas has always used or supported violence to liberate Palestine and has called for the annihilation of Israel.

Hamas has ruled the Gaza Strip since 2007. Specifically, Hamas won the 2006 parliamentary elections, then, in 2007 violently seized control of the Gaza Strip from the Palestinian Authority which was internationally recognized.

So, in short, for 16 years, Hamas has been ruling Gaza. If the Gazan Palestinians didn't want that, they would have done something about it and there might have been a Gazan civil war...

... but there wasn't. By leaving Hamas in power, the Gazans implicitly gave approval to Hamas; indeed, they elected Hamas in 2006. And all this full well knowing what Hamas's goals and methods were.

So, in October, Hamas decided to start a war and the Gazans are paying the price for their complicity.

War is a shitty experience which is why you should think twice before starting one.

The people of Germany and Japan learned that lesson the hard way.

The Hiroshima Shadows are a permanent reminder of that.

In all that time with all those people, there has never been one victim of a successful genocide who ever complained.

An offensive genocide is heinous.

If Biden wanted, he could have called for a permanent ceasefire and cut all military aid to Israel... (and even imposed economic sanctions, if they still refused to listen) His and Blinken's position from the start has been that Israel has a right to self-defense and that a permanent ceasefire would enable Hamas to regroup.

Also, I'm appealed and shocked at the lack of empathy in the comment section, referring to the death of innocent children and infants, as collateral damage and "human shields". Seriously what world do we live in? Everyone was protesting about Ukraine, but we have double standards here

USA used their veto to block a ceasefire

UN Guterres proposed a ceasefire for humanitarian reasons, for the health of 2 million Palestinians doesn't cause mass disease.
