Even without the trial mess he’s really screwed himself as far as Hollywood is concerned with his other behavior. Attacking a locations manager on set, needing an ear piece to be fed lines, getting black out drunk and cutting off his own finger, the drugs…it all makes him toxic to studios when he hasn’t been making money for them. The suits will tolerate a lot from talent but with the caveat that the talent makes money. If the money dries up they will throw you under the bus. He’s made himself almost impossible to insure and get a completion bond on to even make a movie plus he expects a huge salary.
He should and it's not affirmative action because he wrongfully lost those jobs due to an unproven domestic abuse allegation.
If he suddenly lost all experience as an actor and has to start over from scratch and they hired him back because of his race, then you'd be taking about affirmative action.
@Juxtapose history
Wikipedia is not a valid source even in highschool.
“While the majority of Irish people who became indentured servants in the Colonies did so willingly (why they felt they had to so is, of course, another question), a not insignificant number were forcibly deported and sold into indentured servitude,” Liam Hogan, a librarian and historian known for his work dispelling the Irish slave myth, told Pacific Standard magazine in 2018.
"Many indentured servants in the British colonies were working-class white immigrants from the British Isles, including thousands of Irish people. Indentured servants were often treated horribly by their masters, many dying before they were set free."
www.usatoday.com/.../
@Juxtapose no. Not even close to 400 years of slavery and Jim Crow. And it’s the US gpvt that sanctioned it.
@Juxtapose you are trying to diminish black slavery by a few thousand Irish servitude. You can mourn and decry Irish treatment in the new world and we can say Blacks suffered for hundreds of years because of OUR government. Doesn’t change either.
@Juxtapose literally not enslaved. It was indentured servitude. Still bad but you’re using it to diminish black slavery which was ten times worse and ten times longer.
Irish servants still were considered people. Black slaves were considered property. I can’t believe I’m explaining this again.
@Juxtapose It’s clear he has no critical thinking skills. He went to public school and was taught nonsense like white people invented slavery and that was enough thinking for the day for him.
@Juxtapose from what research shows, the poor never had it great. So if you’re going to say everything is slavery, like working pre-unions, then black slavery (which was actual slavery- not like) is diminished. Which is what you’re trying to do.
>So if a black guy gets refused a job how do we know it’s not racism?
Because it is against the law and has been against the law for nearly 60 years now. If you want to get an employer in trouble for discrimination, you'd have to prove it because due process. People have used the civil rights act of 1964 for discrimination against whites and won. In order to get full use of affirmative action, the civil rights act needs to go.
Oh yeah, not only were the Irish treated like this but Italians too. The entire reason Columbus day exists is because 11 Italian immigrants got lynched.
www.washingtonpost.com/.../
Perhaps that is the real reason why people don't like Columbus day. The left would rather say that he enslaved the natives, as much as that narrative does not add up, because white people = bad than have sympathy or even acknowledge that white people were victims of the lynching in the US as well.
Furthermore, your justification of indentured servitude is like saying that you didn't steal from a store because you just simply picked something up and walked out with it. You aren't even trying to hide the fact that you are upholding a threat narrative.
@Juxtapose *diminish the slavery of people who they deem as impossible to enslave even is they do to them exactly what they deem as slavery to other people.
@Juxtapose I love how mad you are about this. No, actually horrified.
@gorydetails Joel! I’ve missed you. How’s the holidays?
@Juxtapose I said my peace on this bullshit. Lots of communities were marginalized by indentured servitude until Liberals made it illegal. Meanwhile slaves didn't even have the rights to protest as they were literally considered property. Which servants were not considered as.
Mr. Depp has the worst taste in women, perhaps, if he switched to grade-A men, then, maybe, just maybe he could get his so-called jobs back!
Nope

Depp I don't think is in any shortage of job offers. It does show how quickly a lynch mob forms regardless of evidence.
He's lost a lot but he's also 60 years old. Remember he's also a producer, director. song writer, singer. He's approaching retirement..
He will probably end up doing what a lot of actors when they get into their 60s do when they aren't getting leading role offers anymore & that is to take supporting roles like Micheal cain, Sean Connery, Denzel Washington, Donald Sutherland, Anthony Hopkins etc. You know the kind of roles where they bring in a respected older actor to lend some weight to a blockbuster movie like Micheal Caine at 70 as Alfred in the dark Knight saga, Sean connery was 65 in the rock. Depp despite the clothes and dyed hair is retirement age.
how in the world would that be considered affirmative action? he deserves a defamation suit but he's not jewish. so the ADL won't be contacting him.
Nah, he's better off without Hollywood and their ESG style social credit scores.
