I’m guessing it’s likely most of these women have at least had one period in their life. Maybe more. Menopause, pcos, MRKH syndrome, Hysterectomy and birth control are different reasons compared to why somebody who was born male doesn’t have periods. The only reason they have is they weren’t born with a female reproductive system. Not medical reasons

It is part of being a woman or becoming one but not the only thing that defines it. There are girls who start having a period as a child and it doesn’t instantly make them a woman and there are women who cannot have a period but it doesn’t make them less of one. They just have parts that might not necessarily work correctly or they’re past the age of reproduction.

No I don’t. Periods are something women have obviously but not having periods doesn’t mean you’re not a woman. If you’re menopausal you don’t have periods but are still a woman , some women with pcos don’t have periods but are still women, if you had your uterus removed you don’t have periods but are still a woman, if you’re on some birthcontrol you don’t have periods but are still a woman and so on.

I also don’t view someone as a woman just because they have their period. I don’t view a 14 year old girl as a woman just because she menstruates. Some young girls get early puberty and get their period at like 8. An 8 year old is not a woman just because she has her period, she’s a young child.

Not necessarily, because that would mean being old or young taking specific birth controls can make you less feminine or less of a women and I dont like that.
Yes a young girl is not yet a women but periods seem allways like the intervening link never a direct Link for me, between the two concepts.

How is it artificial? These are real scenarios and two of them from nearly every woman. Others are rarer but far from non existing.

Yeah it's a part of womanhood in the same way that make-up and high heels are. It's something people associate with women and most women will experience in their lives. She's still a woman if she doesn't have them though

I associate periods with that time I was moving out of a flat in Highgate and the landlord asked me why there was a handprint on the wall... and I refrained to tell him it was because I'd been fingering my girlfriend on her period, then braced myself against the wall while I fucked her... and the bloody handprint just remained there.

Womanhood. I see it as a rite of passage for one transitioning into womanhood/ adulthood. Its a biological transition while femininity is more character traits
