Dr. Jill Biden had this video made in the White House. You cannot make this stuff up. i guess they will not be taking phone calls this Christmas like they did a couple of years ago.
+1 yI've seen 'A Serbian Film' which is about an actor being tricked into making a pornography movie with necrophilia, paedophilia and gorey death scenes for perverts with torture fetishes.
So, yes. There are things that that more disturbing than a Christmas-themed political short 🙄50 Reply

People who hold doctorates are not called "Dr." unless they're in formal academic settings, such as currently being an active teaching or research professor at an accredited university, and only in that capacity. Even then, they are more properly called "professor" rather than doctor. The title doctor would most commonly be used for attribution in academic journals and other scholarly publications. In any other setting, such as their day-to-day lives, legit post-docs never insist on being called doctor, as she does. It is far more dignified and proper to be reticent about it.
President Woodrow Wilson held a doctorate from Johns Hopkins, and was never called doctor, nor did he ever ask or require to be. Most people, then and now, didn't even know he held that degree.

Opinion Owner+1 yShe has an Ed. D which is a doctorate, but when I went back to check I couldn't find a clear answer to whether it was earned or honorary, all of the information about it is politicized. I had thought it was real, which is why I wrote about her misusing the title in a way other post-docs don't, but if it is honorary then all the more reason for her to absolutely not use it.
What I did find is she wrote a dissertation, albeit a weak one (or, more likely, she had a ghost writer), which is a trick in academia to make an honorary doctorate seem more legit. I will look more into primary sources in the academic community to see if I can dig up her actual credential and report back.

@Siri137 How is the birth of Jesus of pagan origin?
- +1 y
@DubiousIntentions Because it's extremely unlikely that Christ was born on the 25th of December, due to the fact that during that month it was winter and very cold, and therefore the shepherds wouldn't have been out and about in the open with their sheep. Scholars believe he was likely born in either March or April.
Plus, the 25th of Dec. was the Feast Day to Sol Invictus. Here, read this:

@DubiousIntentions Jesus was not born anywhere near Christmas. The bible even says avoid decorated trees and other pagan traditions. It used to be Yule until the Christians took over pagan areas and wanted to force them to convert. They realized the people would revolt if they took away their holidays, so they tried to add Jesus and Christianity to them.

@wolfcat87 It doesn't say in the Bible when he was born, but Dec. 25th was adopted to go along with pagan time as their ritual dates were well known.

It be a good idea to replace pagan celebrations with Christ.
I don't know any pagans that have done anything of merit for you. Christ... Jesus of Nazareth , did the works to save you!
St. Nicholas was Christian (persecuted) and inspired by Christ... that was... to give gifts to poor and made a difference in lives. We should all be inspired! That be the "spirit". That's why "Santa comes down chimneys" to surprise children with gifts, "a red nosed deer "saves the day", etc. It's not about pagan statues nor worship of self.
Stop being logical and talk to me about emotion... that is what Christ was talking about. Look in your heart to find that spirit. We can be thankful Christ showed up and did the work. It's just a "small" job, for us... to believe.

@wolfcat87 Most... maybe, but some of the greatest were. you know that. You are comparing left brain achievement in control of nature to right brain connection to that which we are of. For the separation (by way of fear and shame)... is the problem.
I wasn't Christian either... til I saw what He achieved. The greatest of achievements in my view...

I see thousands of years of oppression, mass genocide, slavery, war, and other atrocities in the bible and in the followers of the bible. Those are quite the accomplishments against humanity. Nothing good any christian has done outweighs the bad that has been done due to that religion...
- +1 y
@wolfcat87 Read what he said and did or in the classroom? Fair enough, plenty of bad and doesn't take much to stain a name. But has nothing to do with Christ. I'm still thankful He showed up, and so many inspired to good by Him. Still does the work today every day giving people their lives back from the grip of this world. No scientist can or ever will have such an achievement. What discovery of some particle and secrete of universe... is gonna logically reconnect you to love, for which we all seek? It's just not what it's about... nor solve the problem.
It gets to the word "worship". I had to learn that word and think about... whom is worthy. He is worthy, I've found no other. I don't view other Chistians as perfect, they aren't nor am I.
I would have said similar years back, before I discovered Christ. Life is a discovery process... and life changes. Each is on their own path...

@wolfcat87 ability yes... but they are screwed up and effort required to damage a young heart... you know how easy it is to hurt a person... so that they no longer do the good that was in their heart. We are easily damaged. separation is the problem from "God".. e. g. love is the problem by way of emotional fall of man... shame, fear (negative emotions), Christ was the solution to heal the wound and set prisoners free. you've read the book yes, did you understand the high level problem/solution set? It's a mess one can get lost in easily.
Given what I read of what you wrote, I don't think your issue with God/Christ is all the bad done under their name... it's "how could you have allowed "this" to happen to me, if you are good and exist?" right? That make sense to me. It's personal, not general.
Each persons experience and discovery is their own. I have my story and understanding, God speaks to your heart and you may see things differently. Your gifts are your own.

@wolfcat87 I agree with you. Christians do a lot to try to make things better. As well, not everything and everyone is Christian nor doing Christ's will. Seems to me, in your view, they are only getting credit for the bad, and not good they do or attempt. I can tell you as someone whose tried to make changes for people, been inside the system somewhat, it is very difficult. the adversary to love and connection, does not want anyone connected.

it's good you are challenging those to be better though, I think we've gone backwards from when it all started.

But your White illegal immigrant ass can't bear to see anyone happy, let alone in the White House.

@wolfcat87 Why I thought it was a joke or why it’s a disgrace to America and the White House?
- +1 y
@wolfcat87 I will take the righteous audacity to elucidate on this relatively self explanatory topic. The White House is a historical constructional work of art meant to establish a widely known status of integrity and rich leadership. Crooked Joe and his administration tainting it harder than Bill and Monica is nothing less than a hint of sardonic irony and acrimonious propaganda pursuing the end goal of destroying America.
