Is anyone not surprised that woke books are failing to bring in profit?

This just came across my feed. Basically post career criminal George floyd, Publishing houses have basically been refusing to publish anything that is straight and white.. And because of that, these book, which get bought for between 250k and up to 3 million are simply not selling. For Example Ellen Page's transgender memoir was bought for 3 million and has sold just 68k copies.

Meanwhile, established white authors have complained that they are facing more barriers to getting published.

Crime novelist James Patterson drew criticism after he likened the situation to 'just another form of racism.' He later apologized but a similar point was made by Joyce Carol Oates.

'A friend who is a literary agent told me that he cannot even get editors to read first novels by young white male writers, no matter how good; they are just not interested,' she said.

It is also something editors themselves have acknowledged.

'We flat-out decided we weren't going to look at certain white male authors, because we didn't want to be seen as acquiring that stuff,' one senior editor told The Free Press.

It seems the left's racism is paying off lol.

It should be very simple business sense that you don't splurge money pandering to the fringe at the expense of your core, but for some reason, the entire entertainment industry across the board adopted that exact strategy throughout parts of the last decade. It also stands to reason that when hiring or contracting out, you pick the people who have the most to offer; not picking for arbitrary (racist and sexist) reasons.

Honestly if a company is that stupid and out of touch, they deserve to fail.
