Do you think rich people pretend more than poor people in America?

In my observation throughout the year in America, poor people tend to act as they are meanwhile rich people and famous people are very pretentious. What do you think?

The working poor and working class generally lack the resources to act out in a way that is suggestive of wealth or status; the middleclass (business owners who employ people) sometimes do act out in such a way but relative to upperclass wealth, they're poor. It is all relative.

Outside of entertainment industry personages, the truly wealthy do not publicly flaunt their wealth as it is a security risk more so than poor taste. However, when you come across such persons of wealth, then you may notice that what they do and wear is of the highest quality because the usual standard of living is different. You might also notice a security detail, which is necessary when going out in public because there is the risk of abduction, mugging or a spite killing.

Those pretentious people are usually new to their wealth and/or acting up to project what they perceive to be a wealthy mindset. Often, the pretentiousness is a front for people who lack wealth but want to masquerade as if they do. The true wealthy mindset isn't fixated on such things and is much more moderated and ordinary even if their lifestyle and standards of living seem extraordinary.

I think people act rich, because there is a lot of pressure to be liked and respected by others. We are always judging people by their wealth, by their cars, size of their house, how good their job is.

We all want to be liked and have loads of friends, and a lot of people feel the only to do that, is to be rich or act like they are rich.

Its all pressure, is what is causing the problem is society.

Andrew tate, made point of this, when it comes to relationship with guys not getting girls, make yourself a higher value man, by becoming rich and successful. But its not that easy, for every men to impress people or women. Plus he doesn't understand, not every guy has the same mindset as him. It just doesn't work that way. Life is very complicated, its not straigt foward, like Mr tate thinks.

The problem with mr tate, he thinks everyone can be like him, and that's just not reality. No offence to the guy, I am sure he means well, but I don't think he quiet understands, other peoples mindset, and what they have been through in their life. Life is just not that easy, its very unfair.

I would love to be rich, but I don't want to become rich for people to like me, or have loads of women running after me. I just want to be rich, to enjoy my life, and have less worries about money.

Well, they sort of have to be. Part of being rich and famous is to convince others that you are indeed, rich and famous. Trump is a good example of this in fact. He was originally quite a no-body. Sure he inherited a bunch of money from his dad but that was not really that much in rich people terms. That is why he started to pretend that he was richer and more famous than he actually was which in turn allowed him to get more money and become more famous. It is a rather stupid system but it works surprisingly well. "Fake it until you make it" and even once you do, you can always just get a little bit more.

I'm not sure what you mean. Because there's rich (generally starting at 1.2 million) and then there's the 1% (starting at about 11 million). And they're a class unto themselves. I would say the 1st is more the pretentious type the 2nd are truly RICH. They buy people which means they don't have to pretend for anyone. Now of course this is withing reason. There are certain societal standards you have to adhere to. Don't believe me? Look at Donald Sterling. He is a obvious racist he doesn't even work real hard to hide it. And he let a racist rant cost him a 4 billion dollar basketball franchise. Lesson learned! You can still be rich and racist, you just can't wear it. You have to at least somewhat hide it.

Yes, most people I know that are wealthy like to brag about how awesome their lives are. They are the type that would send you a letter at Cristmas describing a vacation they had or a sailboat they just bought. The never mention the kid that just got out of rehab
