Democracy is we the people relying on our gov to tell us that the majority had spoken and therefore it shall be and while they are lying through their fake smile’s nobody questions them. Both. A republic by definition an orgin but was always striving and adapting into more and more democratic as an end goal. Hence why we dont have land ownership only voting anymore.

We are the government of the people by the people. The founding fathers are not holy prists writing in stone. Thats why the constitution is vague as fuck and we the people of a democracy can change things as needed. We can add amendments and take away amendments like prohibition.

In a true democracy, everyone votes on everything. No country does that. The United States, like many countries, cites fir representatives who make the laws. The US is further different from many countries in that most power is with the individual states, although sometimes it doesn't seem that way.

If Democrats violate the Constitution of the United States and push to form a Democracy, then they are in breach of contract. They have violated their treaty with the other states in an act of treason. Thus under the constitution article 4 section 4 the military would have to give them a spanking and return them to a republican form of government.

Preferably The Supreme Court of the United States would give them a stern talking to and tell them they are fucking morons and then the Democrats would realize they live in a "constitutional federal republic", but Democrats having low IQs aren't easy to reason with when facts are exhibited.
