@FunkyMonkee to fun, yes they call it "corrective" like holding job opening for certain minority. for diversity only minority can get those jobs instead skill. this causes complaints. but good for the minority. bad discrimination is the problem as if treated differently for punishment.

in war civilian houses were considered LEGITIMATE target by British government, that is war. israel does not destroy every building just the ones used for war.

That was total war, it was also when the circle of error was huge. To hit a large building you need around 1000bombs, to do that you used massed bombing raids. It was also at a time when a tit for tat was carried out. Total war is what was occurring, the likes of Dresden were unnecessary and could be viewed easily as a war crime. It took years for the huge losses of bomber command to be publicly recognised due in part to a collective guilt. That is different to what Israel is doing, you cannot fight a modern war in a high density area using bombing, unless it is limited and has very specific aims. The world has moved on since 1940’s. When you do something and world opinion nearly every country starts pushing for a ceasefire, when you are turning global opinion against you for years, then it’s time to stop and rethink your strategy. There does need to be a total ceasefire and a peace keeping force from Egypt, Saudi put in.

Even Harris in his memoirs was acknowledging what was done. But as I said this was total war, with multiple active fronts, tieing up resources to protect cities, manpower, 88mm anti aircraft guns that could have been used in the anti tank role on west or east fronts. What is happening with Israel now, is not total war, if anything they are pushing it so that it will be total war and in doing so are alienating everyone. We used to put entire cities to the sword in medieval times but stopped doing that, humanity does sometimes learn. Yes but they did not just bomb cities, there were also military and civilian targets. Also Harris was not privy to Enigma and targets were inside cities that were linked to military. The current targeting process used by NATO usually involve 3 x 3 star level to make a decision on a target, if one says no it is not hit, that is with paveways, as in LGBs, smart weapons, over half the weapons dropped by Israel are dumb bombs, unguided. Even the most modern accurate bombing system using dumb bombs in a lay down attack have a fairly high CoE. That is over half of the ordnance dropped is unguided. That means the targets are indiscriminate, ‘waves hand in that direction, bomb those high rise flats’ the attack will then hit a number of buildings. That’s how unguided bombs work even delivered from modern aircraft weapon systems.

2, Palestinians can travel from gaza to west bank in contrast to prison.
