I honestly don’t think Portland, and SF, are that liberal nowadays like there isn’t a lot of diversity there. Nowadays it seems like DC, Baltimore, are the worst.

I think policies matter a lot more than diversity in labeling a city as "progressive." If diversity is all that mattered, then cities like NYC and Houston would be at the top of the list. In terms of just being absolute dystopian hellholes, the big West Coast cities, Chicago, Minneapolis, Detroit and DC are all worse. The reason cities like LA and SF get so much crap is because their situations are entirely due to idiotic management; there is no reason whatsoever why major West Coast ports shouldn't be some of the best places in the country overall, but now people can't leave them fast enough.

Progressivism is about undercutting meritocracy by demanding ethnic and sexual quotas, demolishing free speech for fear of offending people, and doing away with due process to appeal to dogmas of perpetual victimhood. It's about as far from liberalism as you can get.
