Well... It seems like people generally like him more (in hindsight) than they dislike him. The media and Democrats have alienated a lot of people who would have otherwise supported them by going after Trump the way they have.

By talking with people. It could just be the people I've spoken to in my region of the world (SE PA), but a huge number of people (black folks from the inner cities, especially) have made it very clear that regretted voting for Biden because they see their quality of life as way worse. They see the prosecutions as illegitimate and bullying by a legal system that has also abused them. They also don't like all of the conflicts Biden has gotten into.

I really don't think it matters, too many key elections are carried out in ways that make it trivial to stuff said ballot boxes. With harvested or even manufactured votes.

Unless republicans manage to do the same thing as well its rather unlikely someone like Trump would be allowed to win again in said states regardless of popularity.

isn't that like a topic every candidate mentions once and never ever returns to? every politician is paid by pacs! i haven't looked into the current salary of the government official but it was very low when i did back in school. but they only work 3 months a year so maybe it's not? but something to live off of and support a family? no these people don't have "jobs". they are career politicians. how do they make it a career? by taking money from the right people.
