I actually tend to believe that conservatives really think what they claim more than liberals. Because the thing about liberals is that they express how much empathy they have for EVERY disenfranchised person's struggle, and there's just not enough time in the day.

I'm sorry, but no one has the emotional capital to simultaneously make a life mission out of the palestinians' plight, AND women's lib, AND LBGTQ+ normalization, AND homeless people's struggles, AND incarceration inequities, AND Ukraine, AND Libya, AND Lebanon, AND voter equity, AND disenfranchising Trump voters, AND promoting big pharma's product line, AND whatever other struggle de jure there may be.

You have to pick and choose things eventually because those interests conflict with each other. Something has to give. You can't claim to be a zealous advocate for the rights of illegal immigrants and reducing US border security, while also bitching about how we need to help Ukraine strengthen its border with Ukraine; those two things don't line up. You can't talk about how much you love LGBTQ people while also vocally supporting the Palestinian people's choice to vote in Hamas; a group of people infamous for throwing LGBTQ people off of roof tops.

Conservatives claim to care about fewer things and those things tend not to be in opposition to each other.
