Is there any evidence, any evidence at all, that life exists outside of earth?

If there is no evidence that something exist, the logical assumption is that it doesn't exist. If even our brightest scientists have been unable to create life out of non-life, the probability that non intelligent could create life is one divided by infinity; that is zero but possible. Therefore, it is likely that our galaxy was incredible lucky that life started on one of it's planets around one of 100 billion stars.

Life beyond earth always sounds exciting and interesting, but I honestly think if there were people/beings and civilizations on other worlds, then we would've already had contact and communication with them from the beginning, and they in turn would also know us as well. Their existence would be normal knowledge for everyone and not any speculation, no theories of "lost contact" with "alien gods" thousands of years ago or any of that stuff.

From a 'religious' standpoint - and I know there are plenty of non-religious and atheist people on GaG but I'm going to say it anyway - I think all the stuff we've heard about aliens and all the abductions and sightings are just people's real experiences with evil entities. If truly good and benevolent aliens and their technology existed, why then do evil aliens show up to torment people at night? Why do their 'ships' fly around in secrecy at night? Why do they hide and not show themselves to the whole world? All this should be the answer.

Sort of. Or rather, to your point, there are very good explanations for why we don't know. Life could exist on planets orbiting the closest star to us and we wouldn't be able to tell. And the number of stars in the universe are beyond counting.

But, there is also speculation. Life evolving on this planet would be rather lucky. However, between the big bang and now there was a time when nearly the entire universe was the right temperature and pressure to evolve life. That time may have lasted millions of years, even. One planet evolving life over the course of millions of years does seem lucky. But every space of the universe being exposed to those chances and suddenly the odds seem less unrealistic. Of course, if the latter is true, it is likely there is life scattered across the universe. Being self aware is not necissarily inevitable, however, so we might be the only sentient species. Who knows..

Yes there is. In 2019 an Israeli craft crashed into the moon allowing its cargo of tardigrades to escape. Given they are near indestructible many scientists believe they may still be alive and well.

Wrong on each count. First off- Allan Hills 84001. Not just evidence, but quite possibly proof- but maybe not. Astrobiology is a very new field.

Secondly, the ISS; we know for a stone-cold FACT that life exists outside of Earth, but since that's in its immediate vicinity, and more importantly that all life on it comes from Earth, it's probably not what you meant.

Third, the only sources of evidence we could possibly have are things that come to us; mostly light carrying images of other stars, with meteorites a distant second. It's like a medieval Englishman seeking to know if there are blondes in Mexico with nothing to go on but migratory birds. Consequently, the logical assumption, lacking evidence, isn't that nowhere else has life, but that we aren't in a position to know; we simply have no way of REACHING other worlds as yet.

Fourth, the fact that we, as living things, exist, either means that life CAN emerge from non-life or that we predate the Earth, which would mean life outside it, at the very least, DID exist in the past.

Fifth, one divided by infinity is NOT zero, any more than one divided by zero is infinity.

The best, undeniable evidence is that ice (and therefore water) exists on other planets and moons, as does bacteria. This doesn't even come close to verifying the existence of intelligent life or even simple plants and animals, but it's a foundation for the absolute simplest forms of life. To find life similar to how we understand it however, we would need to find a virtually identical planet and solar system, which would be incredibly hard to locate let alone verify. Furthermore, because faster than light travel and construction is not physically possible with any material we know of, this means that travel outside of a solar system won't be possible.

No, there isn't, but consider Earth. It's a small planet circling an average star. We can just barely see planets around other stars. There are billions of stars in our galaxy, and billions of galaxies, but we could never tell whether there is life in another galaxy. I expect there is but no one knows. I'm pretty sure I will never know, and it seems unlikely we will know anytime in the next couple of centuries.

Panspermia has long been a hot topic, and until a decade ago was actually validated to be a possibility.

The issues are complex but the main point of contention is what actually classes as "life" to being with.

There are organics compounds found in all sorts of meteors falling to earth, which mean the compounds for carbon based life are "out there". But would all, if any, life out there be carbon based?

We can only have an Earth based, human centric view. But we are still decades away from really being able to glance into other solar systems to see what they have come up with, and how.

So yes, there is plenty of evidence of the right compounds for carbon based life falling to Earth and existing elsewhere. The problem is that we have no way of knowing what other types of life might be out there.

While that's a logical assumption for something like there being a Christian God, it's not for life in the Universe.

The difference being that the former is just one of thousands of god stories made up by man, and the latter is the understanding that the chemicals that make up life are common, and there are uncountable planets among uncountable galaxies with the same chemicals that make us up.

We may never contact another intelligent life form because faster than light travel may well be impossible. That doesn't mean they aren't out there.

There is no evidence yet. If not humans should have encountered an alien by now considering they are now travelling to space or sending robots.

But there are other galaxies which is out of reach for exploration. So currently only we can stay on assumptions that there might be life, but no evidence found yet.

When my mother was dying and before she had completely lost it due to Dementia she had asked if I believed in life after death. I said no and replied that we just turn to dust in the ground. She wasn't happy with my response and said there has to be something more. This was my last time speaking any actual conversation with her. It's really all about faith whether your speaking of returning with all of your family and friends after death or some sort of alien life form that we may contact in the distant future. There's no definitive evidence that anything else is out there. There's plenty of theories and hypotheses though.

I feel that with all of the billions of possibilities, that life could exist in some form or another in other galaxies. But anyone alive today will probably never have it confirmed. Unless we get visited by others.

Probability states that if we had come into existence by happenstance, we would not be the only ones.

Statistics will teach, within the process of evolution, we would neither be the highest form or the lowest form or the highest, but likely more around the 50 percentile.

That would mean that, as much as we have evolved from a prehistoric era, there would be those life forms that would have evolved from where we (the human race) are now.

Whereas we are now exploring outside our solar system, it would stand to reason that there would be other life forms capable of contacting us. I don't believe there have been.

Therefore, it would suggest we are unique in the universe and that we did not come about by happenstance.

Your premise about lack of evidence is incorrect. For many centuries, Europeans had no evidence that the Americas existed, then a few explorers found the large land masses, with people living on them.

There is but they come from a different dimension. Materializing and dematerializing. There’s some pretty well documented encounters as well as others like bob lazar and Ingo swan you can look into. Bob lazar was recruited to help reverse engineer the craft. Ingo swan formed one of the longest running cia programs with remote viewing and wrote books on parapsychology and his involvement with black projects. There’s a lot on this subject really. Presidents have been acknowledging the craft as well as many other officials in documentaries. Personally I’ve had my own encounters but these guys have more credentials to back there own story. But yes there is definitely others out there but I wouldn’t go looking for them.

Presently there is no evidence to my knowledge or that I can disclose. That being said it is a statistical impossibility that we are alone. We are 1 planet in a solar system of 8 planets orbiting 1 star. There are hundreds of billions of stars in the galaxy and many of them will have solar systems and there are 100s of trillions of galaxies each containing billions or trillions of stars with billions or trillions of solar systems and many times more more planets orbiting those stars.

Well, there are microorganisms in space which technically are still considered a life form even if they only survive for 3 years around Earth, they are still outside of Earth. Also there are plenty of Earth like planets discovered. Safe to assume there are actually life forms in there but not intelligent like humans.
