We're not printing money. The Federal Reserve (a privately owned organization) prints it for free and loans it to us with interest.

We should tell the Fed and the bankers who own it to fuck off and print our own money.

That's been tried many times since paper currency was invented, and it leads to hyperinflation, a failed currency, and a dysfunctional economy. Perhaps the Rwandan dollar is the most famous example, but there is also the German mark after World War I, and more recently (I think) the Venezuelan cruziero.

Also, the end of the article does point out that we shouldn't be ultra concerned about the economy based on who's in office when it comes to investments especially if you're in it for the long haul. That said neither party is perfect.
