Why will the government spend money on weapons and bailing out corporations and not much of anything else?

Their job is about maintaining the alignment of world order which includes USA's wealth. That is oriented to US Currency, the petro dollar and is supported by US Military. It's all supported by the US productivity, technology, and citizens as they pay for it all.

Thus the military is essential to maintain an "edge", else they lose control. Losing control either means the people suffer... which results in rebellion... or war to regain control... which people don't like.

So military edge, gets priority. Govt in general gets the funding as it's now a large part of the economy.

Corporations are an extension of the govt... same.

their job is to control people so that they don't rebel and overthrow govt. If there's havoc for some, it's minor. everyone is going to complain about something or some lack and have diff priorities. The top job in control of the money machine has to control population.

for example... did you know that Boeing is not actually regulated much by any official government company?

Boeing regulates and audits itself... fails almost every audit, and then does nothing to report itself... and the government just looks away, so despite all of their messed up incidents and accidents that are happening by the dozen... they won't ever fail as a company, the US government relies on them for so much that, they will be bailed out every single time for the time being

It's always hilarious to see you commies complain about military spending, when it's what literally funds your "communist utopia". Just one example would be the School Meals Programs that are funded through the Department of Defense. Every single day 30.4 million students that can't afford food eat their breakfast and lunch through the public school system which is directly funded by the Department of Defense budget. These are kids that often do not even have food in their homes to eat. The go to school so they can eat. They depend on the military to keep them breathing, but yep commies always want to cut that funding so poor Democrat kids starve to death. Every single election you guys roll out that same tired dead horse and beat on it, even though it would negatively impact your communities.

Buying weapons and bailing out corporations is a small part of their budget. So the question doesn't make much sense.

But for overall military spending, that is probably the biggest reason why the federal government exists in the first place. But even the total military budget is a minority part of the budget.

What do you want them to spend it on? You want them to just give away money to people who are too lazy to work? At least the military budget is paying people to work instead of sitting on their ass all day.

Corporations own the media. So when it comes time to vote its easy to tell people to vote for the politicians that will give money to corporations. And thus it is hard to tell people to vote for politicians that will spend our money on us.

there are weapons manufacturing and military bases in every state, so every senator and many representatives feel the obligation to keep them up and humming for jobs in their states/districts.

Corporations donate lots of money to campaigns and promise jobs. Agricultural industry is just as bad
