the Military, Social Security, Medicare, health care more broadly, education and infrastructure?
Which of these is overfunded, underfunded, or properly funded in your opinion?
The budget of the US government is a complex issue that involves a variety of factors, including economic conditions, political priorities, and social needs. The allocation of funds to different areas such as the military, Social Security, Medicare, health care, education, and infrastructure is determined by the government's budget planning process, which involves analysis of various factors such as revenue projections, spending priorities, and policy objectives.
There are various perspectives on whether the US government is spending too much, too little, or the right amount on these different areas. Some argue that the military budget is too high and that funds could be better spent on social services such as health care, education, and infrastructure. Others argue that the military budget is necessary to maintain national security and that social services could be funded through other means such as tax reform or private sector investment.
Similarly, there are debates over the funding levels for Social Security, Medicare, and health care more broadly, with some arguing that these programs are underfunded and need more resources to provide adequate support for vulnerable populations. Others argue that these programs are overly expensive and need to be reformed to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
Ultimately, the allocation of funds to different areas of the budget is a complex issue that involves trade-offs and competing priorities. It's important for policymakers to consider the needs of all citizens and to make decisions that support the overall well-being of society.

US government is the biggest asshole ever this planet witnessed. Too much money on weapons and wars, but they can not even feed the poor or homeless, they can not even give any health support to it's citizens. What a hell hole.

Military: Overfunded. Trying to force US hegemony on the world is doomed to failure. Not one of our recent wars has ended in anything but failure, but each of them have offered a bonanza of grifts for the elites. The US could defend the West with its nuclear deterrent and much smaller military expenditure.
Social security: This pyramid scheme can only work if you have a growing population and growing economy. With dedollarization and an epic credit bubble our growth prospects are dim in the long term. “Promise” or not program needs means testing if it is to survive at all. The “promise” was a ponzi scheme.
Medicare: I don’t know enough to say.
Health care: We have the highest tech, but radically most expensive and least effective, healthcare system in the industrialized world. I wouldn’t pump another dime into it. I would smash the thing and start over again. To start, companies would not be performing or funding the trials on their own drugs, government regulators would be forbidden from profiting from pharmaceutical patents, etc. This system is horribly corrupt and riddled with incentives to do the wrong thing. And it’s not remotely a “free market.”
Education: See health care. It’s not that money is lacking, it’s that everything about out system is designed to ensure poor outcomes for most teachers and students. Great for overpaid administrators and as a vector for pushing ideology though.
Infrastructure: Woefully underfunded.
I'd trade 1/2 military spending (i can be convinced a 1/3) going to healthcare. It's too expensive being broke and we need every individual self sustainable. Kicking people when they are down creates more problems then its worth in helping them.
Like with homeless people and incarnation people. Punishment is more expensive then helping them. It's best to avoid these situations by making life viable in any situation or circumstance.
Clearly spending too much as in a deficit. They actually need to make massive cuts somewhere to make up for the amount of Covid spending. Military would be an easy place to do it since we aren't engaged in Afghanistan or other major wars right now, military service numbers are down the past few years, and one of our adversaries is preoccupied with its own war. Foreign aid could also definitely be cut a lot since that money isn't directly benefiting us.
Economics 101 dictates mass spending to pull us out of recessions and then lower spending and higher taxes during good years to make up for it.
Too bad we still have Republicans maxxing out credit with tax cuts.If the proposed budget of 7 trillion dollars was 7 trillion miles. Light could not travel 7 trillion miles in one year.
We are spending too much on all of the above.
It is way too much. Ukraine, useless social programs, and the incredible waste of money that covid was. I would also defund the FBI.
