It's been recently reported that Americans are spending 💰 money like never before - a lot of money! Why do you think this is?

I'm thinking 🤔 that they know that we're probably headed for a bigger recession than we're already in and they want to buy things that they might not be able to even buy in the near future. So get it now while you still can kinda thinking.
I believe that anxiety is playing a big role and people get a dopamine rush from retail therapy. Buying things makes them feel better and maybe temporarily happy even.
These are depressing times for a lot of us. The uncertainty of our future creates anxiety. Just the headlines in my notifications on my phone gives me a headache.🤕
Things like hundreds of people have been laid off! Social Security alerts ⚠️ every single day repeatedly.
I'll stop 🛑 now. Thank you for your opinions.
